What backing is on the flag tiles? Almost looks like carpet backing. Thanks for this tutorial, i am new to these and wouldve don 1/4" seam

We used Pellon Shape flex 101SF fused to the back of our fabrics as it helps with puckering. We trim the blocks 1/2 to the outside of the placement stitching for the seam allowance as this makes it easier to line up the placement stitching and the elements. If the embroidery has gone over the placement stitching, you might need a bit more room. 😄
