This is so great, sharing your knowledge to make the sport more competitive! Maybe the most easy way getting a good speed out of your boat is the secret maths of engine height, prop choice and water conditions. We'd like to hear from you about this in the next video ;-) (Cause I'm still learning by trail and error)

Keep trialing. We have a few video ideas but myself (filmer/editor) and Brownie live at the other end of the North Island so the logistics are hard.

NICE! Well done - keep 'em coming , please. Other topics: how to modify (the engine)?, how to handle torque (steering damper, elastic cord? ). How to right the boat in case of a "whoops" - What gear is required in the boat/on the person for races etc.
@OXSEnterprises6 жыл бұрын
Engines are standard. I think I have clips of the boat being righted so could do that. Safety equipment and what gear is needed is coming next week. Cheers.

I've been checking your channel if there is something new, but no more. Will you do more? I would like to se video of setting (height of the motor and trim and the best aproach to that). And maybe how settings changes when using different props (Cleaver, bunny ear, semi-cleaver) with different pitch.

whats a good starting point for prop height,,, is the the center of the hijackers a good place to start with center of prop hub the same as the center of the hijacker im about 4 inches below that it shots water back in the boat also i do leave the trimtabs( the lip on the back of the transom alone or do i want to tweak them some up od down
@daddybot5 жыл бұрын
Depends on your hull type. A thundercat does not have trim tabs, you may mean the cav plate which is not adjustable. The prop shaft in line with the hijackers is as good a starting point as any. Basically you move up and down, looking for between 6500-6800 rpm with a fairly steady tell tale. Then start trimming in and out using a gps and rpm to find the sweet spot. Its all about trial and error, lots of it...

What pressure do you run your chambers? Out here California we see temps of over 95f/35c and our boats develop seam leaks. My boat is older and I know I am going to have issues over time. Do you have any recommendations? A new boat is not in the cards so I am playing the cards that I have! Stabond is my new cologne!

You can use liquid latex inside the tubes, helps seal up wee holes in the material. Just pour it in through the valves then roll the boat around to cover the inside of the tubes

Any rules on fuel?
@OXSEnterprises6 жыл бұрын
I feel we should've touched on that. Fuel must be pump gas from a service station. No additives allowed except two-stroke oil. Recommend fully synthetic oil, do not use ethanol gas like at Gull as it will attract water and clog up carbs when racing.
@RY4NP6 жыл бұрын
OXS Enterprises i raced rubber ducks for s surfclub here in oz back in my teens and im pretty sure fuel was regulated, but you could always smell that sweet avgas in the air.
@brianmorrison90664 жыл бұрын
Really? You can't even jet your carbs for the air density? That's kind of lame.
