With so many activities being cancelled during this time, I have a new appreciation for music. Throughout all this our kids have been able to stay involved with their strings teachers. They all play the violin and it’s the one activity that hasn’t stopped. 🎻

19:50 Hate of others and one’s self is a learned behavior. Also, I was today years old when I realized Rachel is Dave’s daughter. How am I just now learning this? 😂 (probably because they look a little different)

It’s ok not to pay for kids’ college. As parents we want to pave the way for our littles but not always we can. Most important thing is to love them! 🥰

FYI: "The Baby Wise program outlined in the book came under criticism from pediatricians and parents who were concerned that an infant reared using the book's advice will be at higher risk of failure to thrive, malnutrition, and emotional disorders"

MsArizona131 I find The Wonder Weeks was wonderful though. It made it easier for me to deal with some of the more trying times of my sons early life if I knew why things were harder for him and had ways to help.

I was critical of babywise too. But with my second I followed it and it's life changing! I think parents need to use their own judgement on how to apply any parenting advice and stop relying on "experts"

Trem life insurance is so important!!! We took out a policy on both my husband and myself when my daughter was born in 2017. Then in early 2019 my husband unexpectedly passed away. We had just moved into a larger home and I was a stay at home mother so I had no income. We should have taken out more life insurance than what we had, but I was so thankful that we had a will and life insurance. Please tell people not to put it off it is so easy and you never know what will happen. At 39 years old I never expected that my husband would die.

We have a 9 and 5 year old. We are still using our cheap cotton diaper flats! Kids make a spill those things just soak it right up and even from carpet! They’re amazing.

I love your advice on all these things!!! People are so extravagant with kids nowadays and I love your way of thinking! We need more gals like this!

I used Baby Wise. It worked with my daughter when she was 3 month old, but my son when he was 10 months old (always it depends on the baby). It helps a lot since my husband and I are both working.

Ok I’m not sleep training any baby under three months old or under the 10 pound mark. Every 3 hours to feed I mean please.

Something on Babywise: "Gary Ezzo's methods have been denounced by the medical community as risky for the health of babies, this book has been linked to deaths of babies because of the unrealistic feeding schedules and the outright insanity of punishing babies for normal behaviour. Please do NOT put your babies through this, leaving babies to cry has been shown to harm their brain development and increase their stress response and cortisol levels. In simple words, its BAD. And HITTING children for playing with food? I'm sorry, hitting children is abusive." Use your better judgement.

Is there a toddler wise? Can’t get the 2 year old to sleep to save my life.
@mrskrobs4 жыл бұрын
Yes!! There is a toddlerwise but it doesn't talk about sleep. You can apply the principles of babywise to your two year old though. If that doesn't work there's also other options like "happiest baby on the block" or the Ferber method.
