If you want to take this to the test, upgrade the monkey apprentices to 4/2, this will need more sun gods and a bunch of lag, but its worth it for the levels.

How exactly does this work? So I get whirlwind and regrow however the sun gods are popping balloons...so? Shouldn’t the round end solely by the fact that balloons are reaching the sun gods and getting popped? Are they just too many regens that it takes too long to pop?

By popping more balloons, you get more cash and XP to rank up. The purpose of this video is to show how it's done.

When a regrowth bloon pops it splits into more lower tier regrowths, the tornado brings it back to the beginning of the map which then gives the low tier regrowths time to regenerate back to the highest tier thus causing a loop of splitting and regrowing to make more.
