Another thing to consider when you are solo q is that even tho you have lower chance of winning you can hone your gamesense since your alone and having a lower expectation on each map try focusing on yourself when soloqing, improve on certain aspect of the game that your lacking.

I’ve hit platinum twice and typically hit high-gold (when I’m consistently playing and don’t skip a few seasons - a trend I started ever since from Orchid) I play with my stack but the Xbox experience has meant that my first three placements have ended in losses and with me at a 4.2KDR. I send my friends your videos of site setups, strategies and callouts in hopes of them improving but it’s a gradual process. I watch all your videos myself looking for extra tips to help obtain the glamorous platinum rank once more, your videos are always so helpful and I pray I maintain the motivation to keep going to hit that sweet blue badge

I "hit it from the back" once and IT WORKED! On chalet I was twitch on attack and was being pinned by a frost on the stairs (the stone one or grey black one, library I think) so i threw a smok3 and ran across the 2nd floor and found the stairs where she still was at and got the kill EASY

I think the biggest issue with the rank system is that you only get rewarded for winning. You can play as hard as you can, be mvp of your team but lose 5-4 and you will still drop in rank. Yesterday I played like 10 games and always bounced between silver 1 and gold 3. We only got crushed 3-1 once and all other lost matches were really close and IMO it's really frustrating to constantly lose progress because you were unlucky in a few rounds

@@damandarin5415 This is normal in mmr systems, as the more games you play the more you settle into where your actual rank is. The mmr is larger earlier to help settle you where the system thinks you should be faster. For instance, a Diamond skill level player won't have to smurf on silver/gold players for 50 games to reach diamond, instead it's more like 10 - 15. and platinum level players won't have to carry someone who is silver if they got lucky wins and jumped up to gold as often when they settle to a normal mmr for them. The system is designed to make you / your friends you play with as a group to have near a 50%-win rate and what rank you achieve this at by 50-100 games is where you belong unless you improve or play with better players on your team.

@@woe8917 I agree with the beginning system with it having larger mmr jumps to quickly match your skill level, that is definitely the most efficient method and THAT is common in most MMR systems. However, the MMR reduction is too severe, unlike in any other game (Valorant for example). The whole "someone who is silver and luckily gets plat" is a minority situation, as that's assuming the matchmaking is already problematic (leaning towards an overestimations of skill level). Rainbow's MMRs system does not have an overinflation problem. As you said, the "silver" has to be lucky, which is a *rare* case situation. The real problem is how large the MMR reduction is in the first place, rather it should be significantly higher, ofc not as high as the first matches, but a more balanced MMR increase. What we have now is players sweating in the first 10-15 matches, then stop playing for the rest of the season, because the risk of losing MMR AND THEN regaining it again becomes far higher. This a flawed method. This is because ranking up when your MMR jumps are too minimal, disincentivises players to take that risk and play Ranked. This is why the community has complained heavily over the old Ranked system, and it is why we're seeing changes.

@@damandarin5415 Makes sense, I'm back to playing after a year or two break. At 60+ matches i am gaining/losing 39-45 mmr. While it is under half of what it was. My situation for example is I'm 2800-ish mmr, so low gold 1/high gold 2, if i win 5 games more than I lose at an average of 40 mmr that will get me to plat. I can understand the frustration when mmr goes to like 20. My only real opinion on why ranked is better even if there was 1 mmr exchange is casual/unranked is people trolling all the time. Ranked is the only mode that plays like people are trying, otherwise it's just people running out or spawn peeking or tk'ing. Ranked is a marathon, not a sprint. But anything below 40 mmr feels bad for a 45 min match

Been playing siege ever since maestro and alibi came out and one thing I realized is I’ve never played my full potential in a team and playing solo I’ve reached plat otherwise I was stuck at low gold.

Any other tips or recommendations? I honestly feel like I do these things and most of my stack sits in plat majority of seasons.. I’ve been hard stuck gold for almost 2 and a half years straight.. last season I had close to a dozen games in gold one that if I would’ve won I’d have hit plat, literally 2 MMR off was the season peak. It’s just getting beyond frustrating and I’m about to stop playing the game because of it😅.

Im a plat 1/diamond 3 player but I think my biggest issue is finding a team at my skill level. Seems like the platinum players these days don't understand the basics of the game. I usually solo q but Ive ran with 5 stacks that are just as non communicative as randoms and they are also pretty toxic. I think its just as important to note that everyone in your 5 stack should have different strengths and a basic understanding of the game

rn im gold 1, my problems (that im aware of) im very impatient so i struggle to play passive (a side effect of adhd), my position is also horrible due to this impatience, i play on a 65 inch tv while sitting 3 feet away from it and finally im never consistent with my skill, one game i can go 16-2 with perfect everything but then the next game i drop 2 kills and play like absolute trash and i dont know how to fix that last one, the other issues can be fixed with relative ease but that last one, how do i improve consistency???

I hit plat for 3 seasons in a row on ps4 (burnt horizon-whatever season Amaru was released on) then stopped playing for awhile. Never really dropped lower than gold on ps4 even with a lot of solo q. Recently got back into siege on PC instead, and the level of competition seems way higher on PC. Like even bronze and copper lobbies have a ton of sweats. Is this due to more smurfs or have I just fallen off? Lol I’m still adjusting to PC aim but I have a 1.3 KD in ranked. Seems a lot tougher to rank up on PC.
