Dear Nick, appreciate your feedback. Several friends here left similar comments. Besides quantity (number of likes or subs), quality is another important indicator. However KZbin is a ranking system based on quantity. It is OK. To me, your comment worths hundreds of Likes or Subs. All my research and video editing paid back when I see a comment like yours!

Correct! One of my goals is to bring the traditional Chinese breeding to my channel. For instance, add burned clay tub, and wooden tub. International shipping is a show stopper for now. Hopefully, I can figure out something to bring these kind of tubs here in 🇺🇸

Thank you SO much for this video! I always knew it was good to keep a tank with tinted water but I didn't know how to explain it to people. This video is Really detailed and helps me understand what is in the water and why it's "read" that way. I used to keep tanks that were tinted and low to zero tech but then a (former) close friend of mines kept making fun of my green water tank a (that had been left outdoors in the sun) and then kept talking about how gross it was and wouldn't listen to me when I said that it was natural and healthy. They did this Every Single Time they saw my aquarium and didn't stop until I did multiple 90% water changes which killed off all the shrimp that were in the tank, depleted the oxygen, but made the water clear. That person is no longer my friend. I look forward to going through all of your amazingly informative videos and sharing them with my daughter who LOVES fancy goldfish.

Fishie Hidey Hole Glad to hear my video is helpful. Feel free to share it with others. Two points I like to highlight here. (1) goldfish keepers need to think from the perspective of fish not themselves. What are good for your fish but not for you. If you fish can speak, what will they ask? Will they ask for clear water or green water? (2) critical thinking and open mind. You should not do it because of all the other people. Keep your own options. Right after modern filters became popular, people commonly chase the crystal clear water for indoor tanks. Unfortunately, they don’t know the risk, and they don’t know all the fish farms have used green water for years. Thank you for the feedback!

By the way, my pond is yellow green, but I want a light green aquarium inside to keep my goldfish in summer, so they won't get so hot. I do have two very green sides big tubs of old rainwater, I am trying to decide what is best to raise in them!
@GoldfishCorner
@GoldfishCorner 3 жыл бұрын
From fish perspective, light green and yellow green are good water. For the summer time, I do recommend to keep your water as light green. Dark green contains so much over-grown algae, which will consume oxygen and produce Co2 at night, reducing O2 and pH, especially early morning around 3:00-4:00 AM.

Hi Lei, i love you vids, very informative! i have a question though: how do i tell the difference between, Good water: green carpet water vs Bad Water: re-clear water? since both went through green water.
@GoldfishCorner
@GoldfishCorner 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Yang Yang, welcome to the club! New water -> green water tends to be good water. Dark green -> clear water tends to be bad. As far as green carpet, it is generally good water but watch the color of your carpet if it gets dark or brownish, please scrub them off the carpet and change 70% water. During the summer time, due to high temperature, please keep the light green water, don’t go with dark green

Hello Lei,Thank you for this beautiful video.I am getting ready to start a small goldfish farm in wich i have some land and i have 24/7 running water from a spring nearby.In order for the little goldfish fry to grow up fast i thought to dig some big ponds and put tarplain on top so it can hold the water,then i thought to take cow dump and throw it into the water and in 2 weeks i think it will turn the water green,after that i thought to put in the water new hatched brine shrimps and leave them grow and breed between each other.so after 1 month i think to breed my goldfish and after the little fry of goldfish are like 1-2 weeks old i planed to put them into this prepared green water in wich it will help them grow faster and they will have lots of brine shrimps to feed from them.I never did this before,do you think this would work into helping me grow lots of goldfishes faster?would this method or for my plan or it wont?what do you think?Thank you very much for your time.

Hello how are you? I have four, 4inches big, Ranchus. May I know how many gallons of water should be good for them . Thanks in advance.
@GoldfishCorner
@GoldfishCorner 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, William. The volume of water also depends on your filter. Basically, the more water, the better. My rule is for rectangular tank, without knowing your filter type, the rule of thumb is to keep 20gal water per adult Ranchu. Your tank should be no less than 80 gal for your 4 big Ranchus

Hi, sir. The color of my water pond as of the moment is soy sauce color. Will it turn into green water if it’s in direct sunlight? It’s outdoor, and these past few days, it keeps on raining, so there was no direct sunlight, and now the daylight is back again.
@GoldfishCorner
@GoldfishCorner 3 жыл бұрын
If your pond water is soy sauce color in early July, it is not a good sign. likely Low O2 and high hardness. Do you use Underground water as pond water? I would recommend a full water change immediately

when water has foam, it means your water is old and too much food or fish waste. Try to change 80% or 90% water, the foam should go away. For instance, does your tap water shows any foam? Probably not, because it is clean water
