Load sense is a super useful function in hydraulics, allowing a pump to dynamically adapt its flow output based on the needs of the rest of the system. But the schematic diagrams from load sense pump manufacturers can be a bit confusing, especially if you're not familiar with all the symbols. In the animation ,flow compensator has 3 position movement. But it is a 2 position valve .

Carl, if the LS setting is 300psi and the Pcomp setting is 3000psi. If the load is 1000psi the pump will produce 1300psi, because you add the LS 300psi to the load so if the load is 3000psi would the comp not have to be set at 3300psi to achieve this?
