the trick isn’t to view them as chords but scale shapes you can move your fingers around on.

Perfect pace for intermediate players. It's so frustrating when intermediate lessons stop to explain every single note, making the lesson slow and boring, instead of exciting and challenging. A good lesson should make you pause and rewind, not forward and skip. This was perfect for intermediate to advanced players. Thank you!

Hahaha, you started out kinda neo-soul and then left me entirely behind at level 2 as you swiftly rocketed to level 10 full-on jazz guitar without passing GO and without collecting $200! It's okay, though, I really enjoyed listening to you play. I'll be sticking with the bog-standard major 7ths for a long time yet, methinks. Also, am I allowed to say your dimples are extraordinarily cute? :)

This is a great video. Super dense with harmonic information haha I’m just wondering how do you go about remembering all of these different chord and chord voicings? It almost seems like you’re pulling them out of thin air or is it the fast paced editing? I’m sure it also takes some time to plan these super dense chord progressions

Hi Eric, great lesson! I wanted to ask, do you use your strings really low, right? Because i use mine a little high cause i have a mainly bluesy style and i find a little hard to change between chords as fast as you do. I Would think that could be a major factor to that because i am a experiencied player. pd: Excuse my english Greetings!
@ericassarsson7976
@ericassarsson7976 Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you so much! Okey I understand. I have pretty long string action yes! I don’t have the low lowest if you know what I mean haha. But yes it’s easy to move across the fretboard like I do with lower strings! It’s just that you can’t hit the strings so hard because then it will come a lot of other noises. Try to chang the string high action and see if that feels better! Let me know if it worked aswell! All the best, Eric

This video is great Eric, lots of valuable information on a subject I'd love to learn about but haven't found much material in longer form content. One thing I would say is that it went really quickly. This has an instagram pace which, for this duration is overwhelming. @@davehope5330 I completely agree. Slow tutorials that drag on are the worst. You're not going to absorb music theory in one pass - rewatching until it sinks in, is helpful. I love the pace Eric moves at.

But how would I make people support my work if I give exactly everything for free? This is my way of making a living you know😂 My Patreon is just $9 for 300+ lessons with TABs😅

Greetings Eric, thanks for your quick response and closeness. Yeah, you are right, It seems that those "serious" lessons have to be seriously presented, and this for the students give some kind of sensation of inaccessibility, thanks for care about this. Thanks too for your interest, i have been playing (and leaving 😅) the guitar for 30 years, but studying and practicing seriously for 7 happy years now, and yes!!, theres one lesson that i still don't find anywhere!!!... There's lots of contrast over there between the orientation of novice and avanced players lessons, a "bridge lesson", of what we need to make that step willl be great!!!, something like, i don't know... memorice Major scales in all tones, learn notes from the fretboard, scale or triads shapes we need to learn... some kind of "map" to stay Focus and make that confuse step can be very interesting to see in your style, thanks. Long message here, again lots of thanks for share this wonderful lesson.😊

@@ericassarsson7976 Nice to hear that my friend and I really appreciate your reply.😀 Probably the lesson I would like to hear is how to "construct chords", or How do you create Chords from the notes of the guitar, I'm still puzzled on how do Jazz, Neo soul players create those weird fingerings like Cadd9/E, B7add13, E7#5, and creating diminished and augmented chords. And how to know where to use them on a song, Me as a rock guitar player who is just learning Neo soul knows only the basic G-C-D minor and major chords and power chords lack knowledge on this things haha.🤭 It's still a mystery to me. Thanks again for this eye opening lesson. It really helps, cheers Eric.👍🙏

Oh all right I understand! I will see what I can do. I have so many lessons planned here for you and this is something I for sure will go through and teach! I was playing rock and metal for many years before Jazz and I understand totally what you mean haha! It is so frustrating. Haha that's why I think I will be a great teacher haha! I have worked so hard to try to understand this stuff coming from a rock and metal background haha! Cheers my friend! All the best, Eric
