Thank you for making a new lesson for Yesterday. Very detailed. I am going to have to go back and re-learn the song with those new chords and voicings.

Small correction maestro...Paul was still 22 when Yesterday was recorded in mid-June 1965 and as he must have arranged the accompaniment a fair bit earlier, it makes his achievement for someone so young even more unbelievable. Fantastic lesson. Keep posting these small treasures!

Right, he would have been 23 the day after the recording :)

I think that if the student thoroughly learns the song "Yesterday", then it will be a good level of guitar playing))) A wonderful lesson!!! GooD)))))))

This is perfection. Been playing this for a while and there were a couple parts that didn't sound quite right. Thank you.

Very interesting that Am6 on the middle eight, as well as that hammering at the very end. Never noticed those beautiful arrangements. Thanks for sharing. Now, to practice until playing it correctly.

I don’t usually comment on tutorials, but the fact anyone learns a song he’s covered from anyone other than this guy is a tragedy. His attention to subtleties and focus on staying true to the artists original recordings/performances are wonderful.

There is a KZbin video of Paul being interviewed by Michael Parkinson where he plays Yesterday and explains that he only ever uses his thumb and index finger. NOT index and middle. Just saying. And you can see it on YT. But I love your posts and have done for many years. You are a star.
@Denmirden11 ай бұрын
I think Paul is not correct) In recording you can here 2 thumbs, not one. Maybe he did it unconscious
@white.lodge.dale.cooper6 ай бұрын
Two thumbs? That’s…impressive.

So... if the guitar is tuned down it's not really the G chord he plays there, right? And the same applies to to other chords.
@handrm9 ай бұрын
Yes; the song is actually in the key of F.

Thanks Galeazzo, very very impressive lesson! Just a note. Ok, guitar lowered by 1 tone on the record and when he played alone with acoustic guitar, but the very few times that all 4 played it live together they actually played in G. Like on this occasion kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoq6qnl_r7iYjqssi=NvBzIVPEfWLXFu44&t=33 and Paul had no problem singing a tone higher… of course!
