Hey, thanks for a great video. Took me a total of 10 minutes to rebuild a set of pedals with your help.

Great video. Even I figured it out. Would not repeat with these pedals though. Mine blew apart after only 300 km of easy trail riding. I will keep them as spares only.

As I said with the last goat video, this is baaaaaaaaad!

Excellent video, you certainly weren't 'acting the goat' when you said it was easy. For those that don't know, that's an old expression we use in Scotland. Acting the goat means to kid on or carry on etc. Anyway, nice pedals.

First time I use these pedals and after a 45 min ride, the left side has already developed massive side to side play ;-( How do I fix this? Tighten nut and use locktite, so it doesn't happen again - or return to RaceFace?
@mxxmikexx18 жыл бұрын
+Krikstar123 my brand new set fell apart on first ride, in less than 4miles. re-tightened everything and could notice tons of lateral slop side to side on both sides. sent pedals back for replacement. got new set today and they do the exact same thing! biggest waste of money
@Krikstar1238 жыл бұрын
+mxxmikexx1 Same here. I wrote RaceFace because I didn't want to spend money sending them back, only to get yet another defect sample and waste money on that too etc. No help from RF! Apparently RF thinks it's only very few pedals, even though the internet is full of examples of the opposite... Their best/only solution was to do what you did - without success. Quality control and cost here of is completely up to the users - WTF??? What kind of ass hat company does something like that?

+Krikstar123 I took the new set apart, put locktite on the spindle bolt,and TIGHTENED the piss out of it and it seems to be better. going out today for a ride so I'll report results. I'll be bringing spare pedals with me tho incase the atlas fail, complete joke that such expensive pedals are having this issue. I have a lot of race face components on my niner, but will be very hesitant to purchase another race face product after this experience.

+Krikstar123 my second replacment set had the same problem. Im sending them back for refund. I have read that if you file down a very small amount from the end of the pedal spindle that will fix the slop issue. BUT if you file to much the pedal will bind! so file at your own risk! epic fail race face
@Krikstar1238 жыл бұрын
+mxxmikexx1 Bummer, I don't feel like filing down anything. Seems like Race Face removed all our comments on their Facebook page. Apparently they are ok with repeatedly sending out defective products, but can't take criticism for it... Well done, Fail Face :-b

Mine got air/play after a small kontact with the ground while pedaling. I tried to tighten the spindel, but it doesnt work. Tightend all screws there are, but it still got play/air/space (sry for my bad english). What can i do now? These things are only 3 Weeks old.
@bimmer6668 жыл бұрын
+bimmer666 my idea is that the spindel is a bit to long. Maybe i can make it shorter.
@artscyclery8758 жыл бұрын
+bimmer666 We can guarantee that the spindle supplied is factory spec and is, in fact, not too long. Do not try shortening it. It sounds like you've knocked some pins and screws loose. What we'd recommend is remove the pin and end cap, then starting at :45, tighten the 2.5mm allen at the end of the spindle to make sure that your spindle is all tight and free of play.
@bimmer6668 жыл бұрын
+Art's Cyclery Yeah, i already did that. It still got side to side play. I cant tighten the 2,5mm any more. It has full contact to the spindel.
@ThunderStruckMTB8 жыл бұрын
Yup, very common with these pedals. Mine did the same thing and I couldn't get the play out because the 2.5mm end screw bottomed out on the spindle. I ended up filing a little bit off of the small spindle end and that worked........ But I sold them on eBay and looked elsewhere.

These pedals are absolutely JUNK. Raceface customer service is almost non-existant when the pedals shit-out mid ride and you get home and try to contact them about their inferior product. Thanks Raceface!!
