Andy, thank you too. I recently put on an intake manifold and used your advice about putting cut off studs on the corners to use as guides. Also good stuff.👍

Great video - really like the callout on making sure your tools are clean. A little metal shaving can cause serious issues in an engine.

Really enjoy your videos. They are very well made and informative. In watching this particular one, you are giving us specs on the crankshaft thrust, however, it would be nice if you were to also give instruction on how to correct issues if they arise as if the thrust was out of spec. Thanks for a job well done.

Thanks for the helpful info. And what the specks should be. What does a person need to do if they are not in those speck? Like a trouble shooting situation.

You can get different sizes of thrust bearings to get the crank thrust within specs.

Thanks for the video. Hope you don't mind me bringing up another subject...but...do you know where I can pick a Tremec T5 that I can rebuild? Really don't want to take a chance on a junk yard tranny (never know what ur getting). I know there are remans out there but I would like the challenge of rebuilding it myself. It will go in a 66 with a '74 302.

I wouldn't know where to get one but if your looking to rebuild one, a used one would make sense. Try Carpart.com

Do you have a parts list anywhere? It’s been 10 years since I have rebuilt an engine. I suspect my 289 is original. When I take it to a machine shop will they tell me what size piston and rings I need?

I do not. I'm trying to stay away from a parts list on this build. Every build will be different. But work close with your machine shop and they should be able to help guide you or round up what you need for you.

Hey Alf, I don't know if you remember I was working on a 66 Mustang with the 200 3.3 inline 6 and I was having oil pressure problems I'm sorry I took so long but I finally got my oil pressure figured out on the motor I got 50 pounds but I'm still not seeing any oil moving moving up on the valves and springs and lifters any ideas thanks

Are you running the engine with the valve cover off or just manually running the pump?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ66c319aJKFeZY Have you tried putting a drill on the oil pump shaft and priming it? Sometimes just cranking it is just too slow to get oil to the top.
