is it possible to have the door reopen after a user leaves? i have some glass rooms with a canvas to let users draw without being messed up, and when they leave, i'd like the door to open so someone else can erase/use it. or at least some kind of timer?

Yes! I think they are available in the invention store. Let me check with Red_Beard. But if you search 'door' or 'doors' in the inventions tab in the Store you should find a lot of premade doors you can use in your rooms!

Great tutorial, but pretty sure state 2 doesn't need to rotate at speed -15 if it's already being set to rotate back to 0 degrees. Once you add the extra pin to rotate to position the speed just needs to be positive.

The speed does need to be changed unless you want your door to open either really fast or way too slow

An easier way to do doors is by animate the door opening then in the options for the animation gizmo just turn on stop at end and stop at start. After that, Just set the animation gizmo to pingpong then connect the animation gizmo to what you are going to press

This is a very helpful guide. But a general question - why can't this just be simplified to putting a button near a door, wiring that button to the door object and configuring the button to open/close the door? Why is it necessary to put a rotator thing here? It may be sound from a CS perspective but why implement the game like this?

I made a room for drawing and have doors so players can't bother each other. Is there a way to make the door open automatically after a player leaves or if the room is empty? There's a pool room that is similar, not sure if they are having the same issue.. but that would be nice if players could get into rooms after they're all closed up and the players inside leave.

For that you'll need an OR chip (Boolean) . Wire the buttons to the left pins on the OR chip and then wire the OR chip to the transitions on the state machine.
