The first thermostat replaced a week ago fixed the problem with the slow heating of the car's cabin, but it did not keep the engine temperature at around 90 ° C, but it was at 80 ° C, so it was defective since new. I reported the problem to the seller and sent another one, which, after re-exchange, solved the problem as well, which you can see in the video. Now everything is ok.
With this video, I want to clearly inform you that if you buy a replacement thermostat, i.e. a non-original one, you may find that it will not work properly, and the next one will work properly, so I recommend that you always buy original thermostats if you do not want to have surprises, such as like me or you don't want to replace parts several times.
For me personally, replacing the thermostat is trivial, so I bought a replacement, but if I had a thermostat installed in a hard-to-reach place, I would only buy the original or a replacement of the highest quality from a reputable manufacturer.
Here is my guide on how to replace the thermostat I recorded with the first thermostat that turned out to be faulty: • TERMOSTAT wymiana w sa...
I hope that with this video I will mobilize you to replace the thermostat when you have one or two problems that I had, and now not and I have super fast heat in the car (about 1-2 km away at negative outside temperature), which now at sub-zero temperatures it is especially important, and the engine operating temperature is maintained, so I don't have increased fuel consumption by the engine.
The fluid temperature sensor is 100% functional. In a few cases, a bad engine temperature reading is caused by a broken engine temperature sensor, but it is very rare. This can be easily verified on a cold engine in the morning by connecting the computer and comparing the temperature from the sensor and the thermometer in the car. A slight difference of up to 2 ° C is acceptable, above we can suspect damage and it is worth replacing it with another working one, preferably original, to confirm or rule out the damage.
You can also compare the sensor resistance with another sensor at different temperatures "on the table" outside the car. For example, putting both of them in the refrigerator and measuring after taking them out and then heat them with a dryer or put them on the heater and measure again.
If you have any problem with the thermostat, describe it in the comment below the video and maybe I or the viewers can give you advice.
In my car everything is fine with fast heating and engine temperature, so I'm ready for winter;)
The video concerns the Opel Astra II G, 1.6 16V x16xel car, but similar symptoms can occur in literally any car with a gasoline or diesel engine.
