That's why it's best to learn to NOT live your life for likes, approval, and acceptance from others. You must choose to love on and celebrate you, and be content with your relationship with God and self, and move on with your life. Pray for them and love on them from a distance. It can be a hard pill to swallow, but it's honestly not the end of the world. I had to learn to love God with everything in me, and in turn He taught me how to love myself and others in a healthy and proper way. And let certain people go if and when it is needed (that include family members as well). You have to have the sorry not sorry attitude towards dysfunctional, toxic, rude, obnoxious, and negative people. It is what it is. Love, forgive them, heal, and move on. Don't let their behavior and mindset destroy you and who you are, and who God created you to be, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I pray that you choose to know that God is real, alive, and well. And that God truly do love and care for you and so do I.

I've seen jealousy and felt bad vibes from family when i annouced i was getting married, had a job in a big company, told some interesting stories, sharing my future goals, always in a naive way...as one of the people here said in the comments, it's so sad and embarassing, family is supposed to be the first you share happy events with, and to be happy for you...now I'm more private, it kills them, they say I'm selfish, but I don't care, it's not my fault if they live a miserable life with shitty mentality, I'm a positive person who always attracted positive things and luck, I've always had jealous people around, who jinxed everything...I'm not selfish, I'm just smarter and protecting myself and my own blessings, if you read this comment, my advice to you : Be private and always show less !!! It's true what you say about distancing yourself from jealous family members. It's the only way to deal with them. The more time you spend around them, the more they will be reminded of their OWN short-comings. If you spend too much time around them, the jealousy derived from their feelings of inadequecy will grow and get bigger and bigger, and eventually they will either try to sabotage your success or hurt you. Spend as little time and share as little info about yourself with jealous relatives as possible.

I’m currently training my man to do this with his nosy, overbearing, jealous family now. I am very private and don’t post things on Facebook either. In the past few years, I was able to graduate with my bachelors and get into grad school :) I haven’t told his family or his mom and we argue about it now and then. I explain to him that I don’t need sabotaging my goals. I prefer to put in the work and once the goal is achieved, to maybe mention it.

Great point. That jealous family member will also stay quiet when it comes to you talking about your accomplishments, they don't want to hear you keep talking about it, they don't want to congratulate or give more positive info,but they only want you to listen to their plans which don't happen for them. It is a damn shame family, and that's right you see it in their facial expressions, and body language. When you recognize the hating keep your plans and accomplishments low key, because they eager to hear only bad shit, loss of vehicle, house, baby mama problems, this that and the other.

Choavez Robinson Yes! Ive had this but from someone I considered a close friend, friend of the family. I known her since I was a child and she is actually older than me. She has a nice life, is well off financially, is married, has a child, - I have none of those things but never was jealous of her for it. Instead the only good thing I had in my life was I went back to college and did really well and just starting to succeed after many years of struggle and when I graduated, she couldn't even say ' well done' let alone get me a card or anything. She'd just go quiet if her husband asked me how I was doing. Could understand her jealousy if she had a hard life but she doesn't so I dont get it. It just always had to be her having the attention. Her and her son. Then when my sister died suddenly last year she didn't even send me a card or even speak to me. Just my mom who she also knows. Cut her out of my life and feel much better for it! I never did anything to her so it's sad.

I'm a highly sensitive intuitive empath...it's heavy, it's exhausting. Nurse on top of it. Christian nurse. So I served to 'near death.' The jealous ones in my family are the narcissists. Can't talk about jealous without talking about narcissism. They are bullies and master manipulators but it's a tough cross and beautiful crown, I tell you. When you try to warn people, like I did my parents about a sibling or two?...you are hated, and it's likely because they are upset they didn't see it. Jealous they don't have the gift. Or, the skill to assess. This can't be done with the narc because they are too busy being all about themselves. And usually the parents enabled and created, and further enabled that behavior.

My aunt is like this too. Her problem is that she was promiscuous in her youth. She damn near slept with every man in town (no exaggeration)..my town isn't even a small town. Now she is middle aged and has no options left with regards to dating, and she is insanely jealous of me and my mother because we didn't sleep around and ruin our reputations. She is also jealous of our lives and thinks we have money.

My aunt used to adore me but now she can't stand me, and I NEVER CHANGED. Yep, it's awful knowing that your relatives hate your guts because of what you have, but you can't choose your family unfortunately. I have had family members jealous of me because my looks and perceived "wealth". A female cousin displayed OVERT jealousy; the nasty digs, bitchy attitude, copying everything I did.etc...my mother's sister (my aunt) dislayed COVERT jealousy; smiled in my face but went behind my back and tried to dig up any "dirt" about about me to use against me. Making up negative stories about me and gossiping about me.etc..People need to recognise that there are TWO kinds of jealousy; overt and covert. Covert takes slightly longer to spot, but eventually you'll catch on if you're intuitive enough. I just give these envious assholes a wide berth and reveal nothing to them.

Glad I found this video! I've always felt jealousy from immediate family members but it came to an all time high when...1) I got a new car in 2014 and...2) When my now husband proposed to me in 2016 and ESPECIALLY after our wedding this past January. I can relate to this so much! They liked me when I was down and were no where around when I hit an all time low but I worked my ass off and elevated myself and am now better than ever. So I’m thinking I was suppose to be the looser of the family of my relatives on my mothers side. Ironically, God has a sense of humor and blessed me and my own family in the greatest and biggest way. Everything that you hit on has happened with several of my family members, including my own mother to siblings, cousins and even past relationships. When I realized that it was jealousy, I disconnected from all of them, blocked them on social media as well. They would say that they loved me or missed me publicly but I was invisible to them in private. They would have family functions or outings and I wouldn't even know about it after the fact or word of mouth. I've always been the black sheep of the family and always felt outcasted. The older that I got, the more I realized that it was jealousy. The lies, rumors and just talking about me behind my back but smiling in my face.

PLOT TWIST: So I was seeing someone that ended up getting more serious than I expected. Of course I was so happy then, thought it would be ok to bring them around my fam/friends. I tried the "warning method' with them, and soon as things got rough between us. They befriended my fam/friends, broke sooo many bonds. Turned everyone around me into flying monkeys. It did help reveal who the snakes were. That was the only good thing out of it! Lol SO MY ADVICE TO whoever is reading this is, KEEP YOUR WHOLE LIFE PRIVATE! Including your PARTNER. Do not even bring them around anyone or tell them about anyone, until you truly KNOW their CHARACTER & SPIRIT. Even then, keep your love life to yourself, because jealousy and a scorn person will do anything out of spite. It's just a gateway for betrayals. Lesson Learned. NEVER AGAIN!

My aunt used to put a clothespin on my nose when I was a child. She was upset that I was lighter skin than she. She called me red and yellow girl. She bought my clothes too big. She complained about combing my hair saying that it was too thick. She told my grandma that she had to do something about me and I was only 7 years old. She talked about my looks. She talked about my figure and my height ( I'm actually short but I had a growth spurt around 3rd grade. So I guess my looks as a child was a good thing that I had going for me? My point is simply this: Jealousy isn't All about quote unqoute good or happy things that you have going for you... Sometimes it's simply because of things that you have, and had absolutely no control over.. all of this does conclude or can equate to these people being angry and mean and resentful and unhappy about anything in your life because they are jealous of you.

She told me that my brother always had better hair than me. She wasn't even saying like in a mean way, it was delivered as matter of fact. She told me that my mom was always smaller than me at my age 😜 I can laugh about it now. It screwed me up, big time. I'm learning to accept a compliment at 42 years because I don't see what people see. I always saw flaws. To everyone else I was considered cute etc... It's like a shallow Hal thing but with myself. I was poor growing up. My cousins, well, their moms (my aunts) had nice paying jobs. My mom was on drugs, so my aunt took me and my brother in. My cousins became comfortable with embarrassing us, hurting our feelings, and calling our mom a crackhead. I told my aunt, her reply was,” well, yo mama do smoke crack!!” Well, we all grown now. The same cousins are not doing as well as I am. I went to the military and then college. I’m a mother now. My cousins hate to see me with nice clothes, a new car, and a career. I was supposed to be pregnant or in jail because I would runaway as a child for my own PEACE OF MIND!! I exceeded their extremely low expectations and made something of myself. I bothers them to see me confident. If I had become nothing, they would be content. My aunt and I fought because she couldn’t bully me with words anymore, so she fought me! I was 27 years old! No one could genuinely be happy that I made it out of poverty BY MYSELF!! I don’t speak to most of my family. It hurts, but they never loved me anyway.
