Couldnt you have recorded from the line in on the front of the vcr and skipped the av to rf?

Yes I think that also works too for most players, I used to use that method but the front ports broke on mine :/

Why you not use video capture card. It way better look on video. Instead of crt. Because when you record into crt screen the video quality is bad and flickering

I like watching 80s commercials on KZbin on My CRT through my Roku. I told a guy at best buy this (a younger guy in his 20s looked like) and he looked so confused when I told him no I was watching them on a CRT, NOT a smart tv. You can see his confusion. He had no idea how I did that and asked me. I told him HDMI to AV converter then connected to the CRT. It's that simple lol

I know it's a 2022 video but even when I'm living on my own if I have a car and learned how to drive then I might record a KZbin video of mine for a VCR if I buy a VHS tape to record and the VCR since I love vintage stuff I'm your new subscriber btw.

if you are struggling to find blank vhs tapes, go to your local goodwill and grab some vhs tapes that already have movies recorded onto them. theyre typically only a buck a piece. most of them have a protection hole that will prevent you from recording over them. stick a piece of tape over that hole and it will allow you to record over them theres like a gazillion disney vhs tapes out there that are worth practically nothing so dont feel bad for sacrificing them

@@susanroche597 It can be done on any tv with the proper a/v connectors. It should work on your flat screen make sure everything is connected correctly and the TV is set to the right source

Why are you connecting a modulator to the RF input? Why not just connect your RCA cables to the RCA inputs of the vcr? You get better picture and sound both.

Yes, that will indeed work better, I encourage using those actually. I used to use those when recording. But the ones on my VCR have been broken for a little while. When I get time I'll have to take a look at it

I'm honestly not sure I've never tried it, I think it is possible but might be kinda hard when not using at least some display to measure and time recordings, but I'm not sure. Hope this helps ;)

It all depends on the recording setup and what you are recording from. For me, I used a Roku to record this video. I would check and see if the audio cables (usually red and white) need replacing

Yes it works either way. It's honestly much easier recording on a flat screen than on a CRT because it's an easier hook up and a much clearer screen to display on. Hope this helps ;)

@@L.Jhauskins you should be able to as long as the TV has the a/v connectors in the back. If it only has an HDMI then you may have to get an a/v to HDMI converter to connect the VCR to the tv

Oh ofc, av cords are the red white and yellow cords that connect to like DVD players and consoles and the RF represents the coax. Antenna Cord on CRT TVs. The purpose is to convert anything with av cables to a CRT TV for in this case is a VCR. If u want to find a simple modulator I think they are on Amazon. Hope this helps ;)

@@leos-ideas Well I wasn't actually meant to be a VCR user. As a person born in 1997, I only learned a bit how to use a modern VCR because my parents' wedding was recorded on a VHS tape in 1996 and my mother bought me a VCR and some VHS tapes with cartoons in 2005. I did learn how to operate a VCR on the most basic level possible but recording, eh... Impossible to learn for me at least. XD

It's definitely a bit complicated to get them right. I was born in 2005 and we've had this VCR since the 90s it's definitely important to get one that works great I would not use mine as an example. Some of the more newer Vcrs were manufactured in the late 2000s so if you want quality and simple setup id go for one of those. Sometimes it's better to get the DVD VCR combo.

@@leos-ideas Wow, in 2005? You don't have anyone to help you or maybe at least refresh your memory? Even I as a person born in 1997 sometimes I lose control of the VCR. I only had my mother to teach me how to operate this VCR and she used no manuals or anything like this, she simply knows how to operate a VCR better than me. I did try to learn how to record on some non-important tapes but I just managed to... record static. XD
