Question- Re: recording single tracks with effects. Are delay and reverb the only ‘return’ effects in digitally that require the work around? I’m not sure if the other effects on the box are return effects…

@@mifflinfinity The other effects like sample rate reduction, overdrive, etc, are per track insert effects, so when you record the individual tracks, those effects will be recorded on the track.

I’ve been asking around about the ‘audio in’ selection when using Overbridge, and can’t seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. I’d like my input to be my interface, but I can only get a signal from the Digitakt if I select it as ‘audio in’. This prevent ma me from recording anything other than the Digitakt. Am I missing something?

I like to work on the song in the Digitakt, then move it to Ableton to finish it. You can go back and forth too.

Thank you so much for this tutorial video! I set up sync on Digitakt plugin setting but it does not sync.. It plays when I hit play on Ableton but it does not play the same bpm as Ableton.. I'm trying to figure it out.. Do you have any idea what is causing this.. Thanks!

Hi I did this before and it worked fine, but for some reason I now can't hear all the channels seperately it's not showing in my channels setting? Any advice would be very welcome thank you, great video btw 🙂👍

Thanks for sharing this. Two questions : 1. How do you record in one shot a full drum pattern in separated individual channels ? 2. In my case I use a Scarlett 8i6 as a sound card , so do I have to switch that setting when recording the Digitakt ? or will Overbridge allow you to record the 8 individual tracks from the DT keeping your primary sound card ? If you're using overbridge like in this video into something like ableton you'd be using the usb / overbridge connection and with that it allows you to record all of the audio as separate tracks into your DAW provided you set up all of the routing correctly. I just spent about 30 minutes figuring it all out myself in ableton with my DT but it's pretty easy.

Via overbridge he's connecting each audio track in ableton to the sample tracks on the digitakt. Using overbridge bypasses the Scarlett interface, the whole idea of the software is to transport audio over USB (Hence rendering the Interface useless for this specific case)

settings -> file / folder -> switch on to use audio units and show VST plug ins, it's located at the bottom!

Hi there, my digitakt is used as a sequencer for my drumsynth rack 9 to 16. Any idea how to get the sound from track 9 to 16 to ableton via OB? Actually how to record the 16 different sounds from the digitakt on seperate channels in ableton?

track 9 to 16 are midi tracks on the digitakt. There is no audio there, only midi data.

Make sure the Digitakt VST is installed in the custom folder you choose with Ableton (preferences -> plugins)

hey Charlie awesome Video! Thanks for that. Quick Question: at about 3:10 when you have selected an armed the tracks, you are able to record both tracks into the clips at once. Somehow Im not able to do that. When I hit the global record button, my sound will be recorded into arrangement view and appear there, but my clips will remain empty. Did you hit some sort of shortcut to get the clips going? I think this is pretty basic but I can't find the solution anywhere

Hey! the "Pre-Fx" in this case refers to effects in Ableton, it has nothing to do with the effects on Digitakt. With that option chosen, it will record the clean signal coming from the Digitakt's main output (tracks + return effect tracks), that's why it records the effects
