It would have been nice to actually show where you plugged the cables/cords in instead of doing it with the front of the VCR/DVD player facing the camera, instead of showing the back while plugging in.

Just a shot in the dark but maybe you don't have the video cable from the VHS to the TV plugged in. Is what digital? In case you haven't notice 'DVD' is the acronym for Digital (hello) Video Disc.

I believe that machine uses +R. You can find all the compatible discs in the manual. The manual can be found on google.

I will tell you all simply how to record VIDEO ONTO DVD WITHE THIS PLAYER put the disc in the player press the dvd setting on front of the player put the disc in it will then say do you want to format the disc ., with the remote control press yes it will format the disc once done press the video setting on front of the machine now put the vhs tape in get it to the part you want to record now stop it .. now press dvd setting again .. to record simply press the button on front of the player that says record hold for 3 seconds a command will come on the screen saying press record button .. now with the remote press record the tape will start to play and the dvd will now start recording ... once finished stop the video now press the dvd setting and try and remove the disc it will say do you want to finalize he disc ? you now press yes with the remote 4 minutes later the disc will be finalized you can now play the disc on any player you like . this is the best way to do it simple and fast .

How about you show us the DVD copy playing. Because it didn't work right ? These units are shit. That explains the abrupt stop as you cut the ending of you fumbling and a snowy picture.

These DVD recorders are absolute trash design. If you lose the remote you have absolutely no functions for tape besides stop and play. Garbage.

Where is the tracking adjustment on it? Is it done on the remote? I can't find anything on mine or is it automatic?

It does have automatic tracking. If you want to adjust it, you should be able to do so using the channel buttons.
