Hiiii i get a lot of quest questions and I’m not sure how quest works per say since it’s a stand alone, but u could try software like Virtual desktop and or a Link cable to access your computer so then u can have OBS detect the headset you’re using to record/stream. (I think dats how dat wurk) Again I’m not too familiar with the quest platform but for my fellow quest vr creators plz let us in on ur secrets if anythinggg, thank youuu 🌙

hmm, it wouldnt be in options actually, when opening the menu there should be some icons at the bottom, one of them has a camera icon- when u click that one u open ur cam options

Well in this video I just recorded the entire window screen which captures anything But if you’re wondering how it typically goes, OBS should just need to record what you have it set to focus on. The video crop itself I’ve never touched aside from adjusting between the red bar in the obs app

obs audio input/output, it’s like in the center bottom, or just settings search for audio, I believe output should be set to the headset being used

Third person??… hm not exactly but you could makeshift a 3prsn by positioning the camera above you and have it follow you (default setting) Fun fact though I will tell you this, some worlds in desktop actually provide you with perspectives, n it’s pretty cool bc u get to see the avi

Somewhere in settings your videos after finishing the recording should be set to something like .mp4 which is a video format which will be saved somewhere in your computer, I have mine set to .mkv

so u can, the headset itself has a mic or some headsets have ports for audio but i suggest checking your audio inputs in OBS to see if youre using the right mic

@@poiuyo7206 no its okay, in OBS theres a middle section that says desktop audio and mic/aux. in the mic aux section there is a cogwheel icon that you click and then click properties in that device panel youll pick out which mic you want the recording will hear

thanks uuu, ummmm 2 things rly, it could be the microphone has some kinda filter on it but I doubt that- or it might be that ur using a different mic from the one u originally used. For example I’ll be recording a video but instead of my headset’s mic it’ll be picking up my mic all the way back in my desktop

@@titantanic7255 you gotta change I believe the input within your recording software (obs or stream labs or whatever u use) and set it to what the mic is called for the headset, for example my headset mic is called index HMD something, so play arnd wit it until u find urs if it doesn’t have a direct name

when ur in game, view your obs overlay and in the bottom panel, it should be the mix/aux. right click for properties and set it to the headset mic and u will see if it works if the light blinks green.

it’s not really connecting the vr to obs, it’s using game capture/ specific window so that obs knows which screen you want to record If you’re using a headset that’s connected to your pc then it should be set, plus make sure your input output audio is set both to your headset option If you’re using a quest without link then I believe you have to use something like virtual desktop to see your pc screen and set things up there. Though I’m not too sure about base quest users
