How to record with Fender Mustang Micro USB in Windows 10

The key is that when attached, the Fender Mustang Micro defaults to "disabled" in Windows 10. This causes it not to show up as an input audio device.
You must enable it by
1. Open "control panel"
2. Open "sound"
3. Click on the "recording" tab
4. Find the Mustang Micro and enable it

Yep I had to do the same process as it showed in the video when I bought it last year but now I also figured out how to record a song using Mustang Micro with your Iphone with music running in the backgroung while doing a video. Basically you can shoot a video with backing track and your playing in one shot without using the PC at all.

Thank you! I should have saved 100 dollars and bought a cheap Chinese speaker amp without the Fender name instead of the extra 100 for the Fender name. Now, maybe, this will be worth it but I tend to think I should have bought a separate headphone amp and separate sound interface. Your video at least kept the Fender from being returned - barely.. and for now. Nothing at all in the instructions or owners manual on how to set this up. Nothing about the required 3rd party drivers. I can go on with all the negatives about this but I guess everyone who gets to this video already knows all of that.

@@zuthula3847 i just got it to work with audacity, make sure once you've enabled it in control panel/sounds/recording that you then choose it as the input, which should be right below the "record" red-dot button in audacity.

@@Phyoomz I figured it out! Thank you though. I have to connect it by USB to actually record. Bluetooth doesn't allow you to record it only plays the audio along with playing the Amp through the mustang.

I needed to monitor my playing on headphones but it doesn't feed through by default. Under that 'Input' list, select 'Device properties' and on next screen click 'Additional Device Properties' at top right. Now you get a pop up with four tabs, the second tab is labelled 'Listen' and in there is another tick box for 'Listen to this device'. And it needs re-enabling every time you plug in! Next problem is a lot of latency but not much you can do about that. Holy cow Microsoft love to make things difficult.

Windows 10 has this issue where it will randomly decide to disable all kinds of hardware, internal and external. Try going to device manager and finding the mustang micro and disabling it/uninstalling it then reinstalling it. I had this issue with my wifi card once and it took me FOREVER to realize that windows just decided it wanted to uninstall my wifi card for absolutely no reason.

make sure you close the "sounds" window from control panel. If you're in the "recording" tab, I've noticed that it automatically cuts off all output audio.
