Very good video. I am having a problem. I have to paint golden paint on metal pipe. Have full prepared the surface. Golden dust mixed with nc thinner, the paint is ready. Have tried 2/3 different brushes 25mm. But strokes are visible. Kindly advice, Regards Any link will be helpful. Thanks.

Gesso is like primer. Most canvas boards you buy have gesso primed. Some add additional gesso to make surface smoother. For Acrylics I use chart paper instead of canvas. For oil paints oil paper by arfina brand is good.

Gesso is like primer. It softens the surface. Some painters like tint coloured surface. So they add little colour to the gesso and use it as a base coat. People who like a lot of blending apply 2-3 coats of gesso on canvas before painting. If you have a used canvas and you want to repaint it, gesso can be used to cover the surface.

Use a little of white acrylic to lighten it..and you will get a nice stained canvas for oil painting
