I am SO glad I found this video! I HAVE to use cold compresses on my eyes every single morning to alleviate swelling and clear away my sinuses (I have a deviated septum and sinus issues as well as dental issues. Not a day goes by that my face isn't swollen when I wake up. Specially my eyes and nose area. I feel that the dental issues plays a huge part in the swelling as well). I've never heard of this eye mask and NEED it in my life! I have at least 5 different eye masks and Jade rollers in my fridge and freezer as I speak. They work and everything but takes forever and they're not shaped quite right for my eyes.I feel this mask would be a HUGE help to me! Thank you for sharing!

Awesome info, ty! I used a regular eye patch at night. One that is solid and convex so that it doesn’t push on the eye at night when I might sleep on the side. U don’t really think of that, but u can pressure the eyes if u sleep on the eye(s) when u sleep on your side...

Very true. AN interesting topic is that of floppy eyelid syndrome, where the lid is so lax that when someone sleeps their face movement flips the lid inside out and it rubs against their inside eyelid and possibly the cornea. Keratoconus is even associated with it.

Can warm compresses also help with swelling too? I have sensitive skin and can sometimes flare eczema so I have to be careful with too much heat and have been struggling with finding a good eye compress. I think I'll try this one out, thanks!! PS what eyelid cleaners would you recommend for sensitive skin???

I know some people do well with alternating between hot and cold compresses, but in general the cold compresses work best for swelling. I personally find a hypochlorous acid solution is good for my sensitive skin.

It’s sad because I have that too. And uh, sorry to break the news but some people are born with it and will never be able to get rid of it. A famous rapper 21 savage looked normal at the start of his career, but now he has swollen and big eyelids and he did not cause it. So I think you and me might not ever fix it. Don’t worry, sometimes my eyes get so puffy I can only open half of my left eye. I’m seeing a skin doctor today, so if they know I’ll make sure to come back and notify you to take medical advice. Don’t lose hope.

Since when are warm compresses good for inflammation? Warmth brings blood flow to the eyes and increases inflammation, making my eye more inflamed and fluid filled.

??? I have inflammation of the eye and severe dry eye that has been diagnosed after cataract surgery. I tried the Tranquileyes goggles for nighttime use as an alternative to ointment, but found it was uncomfortable and ineffective. I use a heated mask 10 minutes morning and evening for severe dry eye. The preservative free eye drops and nighttime ointment I use have resulted in extremely noticeable swollen bags under my eyes. It seems that using a cold mask to reduce the bags would work against the benefit of the warm compress. What to do about those unsightly BAGS??!!

Warm compresses are good for dry eye relief, but gpc is often due to contact lenses, prosthetics and severe allergies. Best to address the cause of the gpc first. Best to ask his eye doctor for the best treatment.

Thanks for your prompt response! I highly appreciate it. Yes he was put in some drops for ten days 4 times a day. The ophthalmologist recommended for him to be in glasses for a while because she said it can take up to months for the gpc to clear out. Unfortunately, he is severe myopic and will start MFCL treatment for his progression soon. The optometrist said in order to see some results the contact lenses need to be wear for a minimum of 8 hours which it creates a complex situation with his dry eye and gpc for now. I just ordered the recommended warm compresses I just hope it doesn’t do the negative effect for the gpc while helping for dry eye.

Dark circles can be caused for several reasons, a lot of it is genetic/ complexion related. Otherwise fatigue can cause /black/blue tired eyes under the eyelids as well. But Yes, good video topic. Thank you 👍

OMG! I tried this and nothing, I have dried skin around my eyes. I thought it would be eczema so I tried the eczema cream and it does not work. I use the aquafine ointment for cracked skin and dryness but it only temporary helps. Its superrrrrrr itchy. Gets dried and flaky I dont know what else to do. I have small dry patches too. More itchy than anything.

So I think a compelling video about partnering with an eye doc and what that would look like, and a little scare about taking care.
