A little tip: manipulate the beans that are already in there into those structured pockets first that way you’re just refilling the main void in the center.

I have to add to my Big Joe chair.They do not come with enough beans in them,period.This I hope will help since I have to do it by myself. Looks like I'm in for a fun time.lol Wish me luck.I love the chairs,they just don't manufacture them with enough beans to begin with so you have to add to them within about a week of getting the chair.It's worth it for the comfort.

@Sue Kowatch Yeah, our chairs have historically started to sink immediately after we start using them. We actually upgraded to the larger Vibe chair that Big Joe makes...I hope to have a review video up on that model soon. We plan on trying to refill them with packing peanuts, and that will be part of the review. Should be fun to see how that goes! 😂

@Breakemdown0730 We ended up letting these smaller chairs succumb to rips and deflation. The bean bag chairs we use now are the VIBE version...bigger and more resilient. We fill them with static free packing peanuts. I'm working on getting an updated review together. 🙃

@@PYCAH Yes. We got the big bag of refill beans. It's not always that way, though. Some times one chair needs fewer beans or more beans. 👍The packing peanuts are a better way to go, I think.

@@PYCAH In the vibe chair version, the massager is bulky. The peanuts hide the internal mechanism better than the beans that come in the bag, I think. It's not apples to apples, though. The seams to our smaller chairs kept ripping open...I didn't ever try the peanuts in those. 🤷‍♀️

@Erin Alison Thank you! Bean bag chairs are really a long term investment. We refilled the same bags for years, until the seams ripped. Then we bought higher quality bags, still filled with the same beans. I love the way the seats feel...but the upkeep is MAJOR.

My 3 week old Big Joe is BACK TO LIFE ! I'm only 120 lbs and nobody else here to sit in it ! SO ! Thanks to supplyhut ( the company packing peanuts came from ) oddly enough found on Walmarts website ( under packing materials ) ... 40 gallon pink anti-static for a total cost of $ 10.01 ( no shipping charge ) ... Oh ! and some to spare, I'm sure there will be some settling of the smaller Big Joe's pellets.

We did ours made a DIY funnel out of duct tape and plastic chopping board or you can do two large cups duct tape one on a small opening on bean bag and the other one on the plastic bags small opening. Took a lot of patience but we didn't have a mess.

Do you think removing the beans and refilling with the plush cotton filling in the sewing aisle would be a viable alternative to all the beans?

@Sparx Maiden That's a good idea. I think plush filling would be a nice addition to the beans or peanuts. I don't think the plush filling will be rigid enough on its own to support the weight of a person sitting for long periods. The beans and peanuts compress, but they still have strength that plush filling won't. If you try it, please let us know how it goes! :)

Britian Nell Yes, this is the 100 L refill bag. And we have ordered more than one per chair since recording this video because we found that a saggy chair really needs between 1-2 refill bags each (especially if adults are going to be able to enjoy the seats regularly). I hope this helps! 🙂

@Billie Hooper We let our bean bag chairs get really deflated before refilling...and so it took a bag and a half of the giant $20 bean replacement bags bring them back to 100%. Honestly, though...it's challenging to refill the chairs. Even though you can get good with practice, I would guess that most people are plenty happy with a chair refilled to 'good enough' using one bag of refill beans. Is this your first time attempting a refill? 🤔

UPDATE: Big Joe's pellets did do some settling HOWEVER I did have packing peanuts to spare ... EVERYBODY pls be careful ( especially ) if you're doing this refill method ALONE like myself ... Turn your chair upside down ( of course first ) try to ensure all of the original pellets have made it to THE TOP ( this meaning the back and side arm areas ) ... GENTLY push the packing peanuts through the channels you'll find at the bottom of the chair ... I want to say that I really didn't expect what 40 gallons of peanuts would actually look like when arriving ( sounds like a lot IT'S NOT ) ... Basically back on here to let all of you know I did have to use more ... This method is a wonderful hack ( wish I can take the credit but can't ) basically sharing something I saw online ... We don't have to continue getting ripped off by the manufacturer of the fill and the talcum powder trick worked wonders at keeping all those nasty original pellets at bay when I refilled my chair. I saw a diy project and the woman used packing peanuts for a bean bag. Do you think I could pull off the packing peanuts for the Big Joe. @Renee T You know, that packing peanuts idea doesn't seem half bad! 😂 My hubby and I were just talking about how we are probably odd for keeping and refilling these chairs so much. They do start to sag immediately after we fill them... and the kids are literally 50 lbs or less. I would say try not to be afraid. With enough baby powder, you can easily gather anything that spills. We've got it down pat at this point... you could, too. But seriously, I would love to know if packing peanuts work for you. And I guess what the cost savings looks like. 🤔🤷

@@BeingBarton Hey honey I've had a change of heart in returning the Milano ( I think it the bean bag itself has " ideal potential " ) with the hacking method. I took a VERY CAREFUL peak inside the bag and OMG ! those little balls have minds of their own, yikes ! I made a stink and called the company ( b4 I found out about pp ) and the company wanted to send me a refill bag free of charge ( remain glad I declined their offer ). Have yet to purchase the pp but it's on my list of things to do. I'll let ya know how it works out. And btw: you're not ODD, you both are good parents and want the little one's to be happy. @Learn Money Fool Yes. The double zipper prevents beans from accidentally escaping. If you have a paper clip to attach as a pull, you can open the zippers slowly, one at a time. 🙂

+Big Steve Honestly, at first we were unsure if refilling these seats was going to be worth it. Since we have 4 of them...and they deflate (so far) about every 3 months...it's become a routine now, ordering refill packs and taking a day out to plump them up again. The kids use the boxes that the refill packs come in to build forts. It's pretty cool. 🙃
