This is the best instructional video for re-spooling a Stihl Supercut 20-2. Unlike most bump-feed heads, this one doesn't work the same way I am familiar with. I was mystified by the two spring wires as well as how the auto-feed works. This video actually explained what the two wires are for as well as how the auto-feed works. This is most appreciated. Thank you very much for your efforts.

I love these instructional videos that show you how to do things correctly when you acquire a machine that you have never seen before and need tutoring.This was gold to me, I was able to correct my mistake by watching this video (mmmm I wonder why this spool does not automatic feed like it supposed to) Thankyou! Sir very very valuable to me, Keep them coming

It costs a little more to have a pre-spooled line, but when you're in the middle of a trimming job kzbin.infoUgkx429xwEjNPnwzQohFrURRyKF51YfOD_Du , it is so nice to just pop out the old one and pop in a new one. Love Black & Decker tools. Especially the 20-volt battery operated ones. And, as usual, it came on time. Thanks Amazon!

I have one of these and rewound it as per your video, the problem is that on start up or idle the. Rev it throws out about 1/2 a meter of cord. Didn't do it with factory one. In using the stihl 2.4mm cord too. Any suggestions? Thanks

good video, very helpful, except audio could improve in spots. The instruction manual is very poor in terms of covering this topic adequately. Thanks, much appreciated
@rudessu7 жыл бұрын
At the 2:42 part of your video u say the spool moves to let more line out but you turn it clockwise which shortens the line. You can't move it anti clockwise to lengthen the line. Thinkin it is supposed to drop down slightly to release itself and feed some line out. No matter what i do mine will not work the way Stihl says it should. It will not self feed. Will take it back to the Stihl dealer tomorrow.

What size threads does the super cut 20-2 have?
@evanking67377 жыл бұрын
great video - all the detail one wants. I do have one problem. when I pull the cord to start the machine - the line retracts about 25 mm back into the head, after 4 pulls the line has vanished and I have to stop and open it up to pull it back out. I am tensioning it and placing the line on the outside of the guides as per your video. I replaced the head with a new one thinking it was worn but the new head does the same thing. This never used to happen. any ideas anyone?

Is this head brand new? If not then check the wear on the eyelets and the bows. Make sure you're wrapping the cord around the outside of the bows and not inside or through. I just had a new tab on our website made to make things a bit more understandable in terms of part names that will show you the bows/eyes/everything in the head. I hope this helps! just check the description above.
