How to Reform Electrolytic Filter Capacitors on tube radio or amp.
The filter capacitors on old tube gear tend to dry up and start leaking (physically and electrically). This will cause Hum, so changing them is quite usual in the restoration process.
However, they can sometimes also be reformed, thus avoiding messy re-stuffing or outright removal to replace with new ones.
This 'restoration building block' video gives you a detailed description of this reforming process, with excellent results.
