It actually doesn’t refresh the data (which is not checked in the video) as the file is saved and closed immediately after hitting the Refresh button. You need to add a “Wait” step before closing for the refresh to come through.

Hi, for anyone who is wondering how much time is needed for your file to refresh. I have the same situation and the way I go about having excel finishes the refresh first then save and close is to use a Power Automate to run a Marco script within the Excel file in which is instructed to refresh, wait for it to finish and only when the refresh is completed then move on to execute the next line of code.

But the original question was "to be done all online" and also between last step and close excel, how we ensure that the refresh has been completed?
@EnterpriseDNA2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mauricio, Thank you for posting your query onto our channel. We really appreciate you taking your valuable time to post it. Well, the refresh will occur online, it's just the file is getting accessed from the Power BI Desktop and the changes will be automatically flowed in. And with regards to the last query that is, "how we ensure that the refresh has been completed?". For this, we already showcased into the video that how to check whether the file is refreshed or not. If the flow has run un-interrupted then within the SharePoint, we'll be able to see the latest date and time.
