I’ve been producing for a while now, with my background being in metal and film scoring but producing trap for 3 years now. Recently I got inspired by the plugg movement and took my influence from the drain dudes to kinda shape my own sound. I had no idea what I was making is already a scene. This... This right here.. THIS is the genre that I've been trying to make but I kept thinking of it as "songs that start like a lofi song but progress into a trap/cinematic beat that's sounds like it sampled hanz simmer", I mostly wanna do it bc I HATE sampling, I love writing music, I started on guitar and the only reason I up my producer skills is to one-day self record a guitar/piano album I am writing but as far as making tracks for fun this is gonna be a video I reference for awhile to eventually get there and know that I can make music in other ways other than just guitar, bc NGL alot of the time I spend on FL is just messing around with things to figure out how they work and how to use them and the rest is spent writing melodies that I save an never come back to bc I SUCK at percussion, I have a very hard time staying in time as it is on guitar, and when i write drums im never happy with how everything comes together, im always either retro actively changing placements of things that i no longer like or just can't find a spot that feels right for what I am hearing

I like to layer pianos first then bring in strings cause I usually write the chords on a piano first, so its like im introducing the main idea of the song. Then I like to add strings to kinda fill out the sound. But it really depends on your song, trust your ears and do what FEELS right 👍
