Same here. Still have my mid 80’s Nikko Rhino F10 in the garage. Daughter and I just got back from the local hobby shop. Ordered the Arrma Kraton 6s V5. Hope she enjoys RC as much as I did as a kid.

Why the plastidip or a peelable spray tho? Wouldnt spray on truck bed liner be better and stronger?

Did this to my arrma kraton body. Drywall tape, shoe goo, and plasti dip. Works great

Looks good but the problem with using spackle tape is that it hardens and it wil crack on impact.. need to use something more flexible like flex seal or gorilla 🦍 tape!! It flexes on impact n it won’t crack

Never tried plastidip. I love that stuff. My favorite is linex truck bed liner. Not in a spray can. Take it to linex. I might try this one thanks

Yep, gonna try this method. I feel like it's easier than the 3 layers of shoe goo I laid on my Kraton body.

Use the orange tape it's more sticky than the cheap white tape . . I made that mistake and ended up using more white tape to stick it down. Just buy the orange tape and it do it in one lot

Try using Rust-Oleum truck bedliner instead of Plastidip. It's much more durable and only requires only one or two coates.

I literally just commented on one of the replies and said the same thing but I'm opting for raptor bedliner. Alot stronger. I would use line-x but it's not available in a spray can and you have to find a location where they charge to apply line-x coating

I know this is very old video. But still useful. So anyone that sees it, you can also use some spray adhesive, a light spray prior to placing the tape. It'll hold it in place and secure it so it stays in place easier. Just enough stick to hold it in place until you apply the plasti dip

Grant Croy Hey bud has it held up well? I've used plasti dip on my car rims and only thing that worries is it peeling around the body posts after some uses and start peeling around the posts.

I would like to add two thoughts: 1. any cut of the tape is a breach of the overall stability, so I took as large pieces as possible 2. it is important that the tape gets glued to the body by the plastidip, so the mesh tape shouldn't be applied too dense I have no doubt that you got a stable body now - it could be even more stable :)
