I’ve developed lots of 110 and I drop my Yankee reel in the bottom of a Patterson tank. You can even stack a 35 mm reel on top of it and do both at once. I never have light leaks this way I can invert for mixing. Works great.

definitely use the paper backing, makes reloading way faster and easier and gives frame numbers.

Hi there! Thanks, but I'm not the first to do this. I know of others who have discussed ways to do this in forums and blogs but I have not seen any videos on it, so I created this to share my method. I hope it was helpful. 🙂

I've done something similar with 126 film but did not know that it worked this way with 110 cartridges. Now I'll be on the lookout for a Pentax. Thanks for sharing.

Same here! I have a modded 126 cartridge to use with some old Instamatics. I definitely would recommend the Auto110. There's plenty of them available and they're such a blast to shoot with.

I bought a Jobo 1510 tank which is amazing quality and Jobo also produces a 110/16mm reel called a Jobo 1502 Spiral. It's a bit on the pricey side but was a solid investment.

There's a guy on etsy printing 110 reels for either Jobo or Paterson. I bought one, they're very nice, and work well. He has also released the files if you want to try 3d printing your own. Be advised, some cameras won't cock the shutter without the 110 perforations, like the Minolta 110 SLR mk II (the film will just advance w/o cocking the shutter). The Pentax 110 is perfect for re-rolls, because it does not need the perfs, but the frame spacing will be non-standard 110. HOWEVER, the little autowinder needs film with the 110 perfs. Kodak Vision3 50D film produces very nice little negs with the Pentax. Just be sure to get off all the remjet- don't need any specks on little negatives. Don't bother trying to crack Lomo carts. They're very thin brittle plastic and very well welded. I've found vintage Kodak cassettes the best so far. Haven't tried Fuji yet.

Thanks for the info! Do you happen to know if the original (MK I) Minolta 110 Zoom SLR requires the 110 perforations to cock the shutter? I’m considering getting one and reloading the cartridges with 16mm film
@maf421
@maf421 11 ай бұрын
@@TheLucaaw it appears to me that it does not ( I have one sitting here) Be advised to put the 16mm perfs at the top of the cartridge so they don't trigger the little catch lever. Spacing will be non-standard, but far enough with one stroke advance.

I do enjoy the pentax 110, but have not tried this. However, I do have 16mm film that I use for my the Minolta 16 cartridge. Loading the film in the cartridge is pretty similar to what you have just done. Thank yankee tank is pretty bad. I put some tape around the twister so it could grip.
@filmismorefun
@filmismorefun Жыл бұрын
Yeah, this Yankee tank is functional, but that's about it. In reviews others have mentioned about the tank also having light leaks, but with 110 I haven't experienced any. I can see with a larger film like 120 being a potential problem if it's near the lip. When I come across a Minolta 16 tank I'm going to scoop it up.

How do you develop your 100R? Data for this is not really available. What developers have you tried for what time?

Hey there. I used D76 at full strength, but I forget the times tbh. I just checked and I can't find my notes for these tests. I wasn't too happy with the results though, so still a work in progress. If I can find my times I'll update.

How about sprockets? Do they matter? I'm thinking if super 16mm would work
@filmismorefun
@filmismorefun 3 ай бұрын
It depends on the camera. The perforations stop the film advancing at the correct spot, but they also cock the shutter on some cameras. I haven't tried super 16 yet, but have wondered the same thing. I've been eyeing a cartridge of 100' Vision 3 250D but was hesitant to drop $70 bucks without knowing it would work 100%.

How is that Foma R working for you? Do you develop it as a negative or as reversal film?
@filmismorefun
@filmismorefun 4 ай бұрын
It's not the best tbh. I was developing as a negative and have come away with mediocre results.
@tmsods2874
@tmsods2874 4 ай бұрын
@@filmismorefun Out of curiosity, what developer did you use? And for how long / what temp? I've heard if you cross process reversal film it comes up to about half the box speed. Meaning you'd have to push it one stop to get 100 ISO for example. If you did it that way and it still came out wrong I'd say it's not worth it then. 😅
@filmismorefun
@filmismorefun 4 ай бұрын
@@tmsods2874 It was developed in D76. On the second try I did add about a stop to try to compensate, and it did come out better, but still a bit underexposed. If I continued to tweak it I'm confident it would have gotten a little better result most likely. I forget the times and temp I used though. When I try again I'll update. 🙂

Does any one know what happens when 110 film gets exposed out side of the camera is it just one frame or is it the whole cartridge gets exposed and does it happen when the back cover comes off of the camera I’m new with 110 film
@filmismorefun
@filmismorefun Ай бұрын
If you take a cartridge out when it's midway through the exposures you should lose only that frame. I would still remove the cartridge in low light though so the light doesn't bleed into the frames on each side of the current frame.

@That_one_dnd_player Maybe. If you take the cartridge out it will, but if only the back was opened without removing the cartridge it may be okay (or only have a little bit of light leak on that frame).
