Thanks for the tip on cutting away the fronds. I was worried that the plant wouldn’t be able to support all that biomass without a root system! Your method makes total sense and I should have thought of that solution myself. I just hope I have fronds before three years!

Bare handed!! Omg, I can’t even trim my sago palm without saying ouch, ouch, ouch a hundred times. Nice job!

If you had tied the leaves together it would have been easier on you and less stressful on the plant! I would be curious to know if this cycad survived the trauma of complete defoliation!

Jose, thank you for your video! How do you give the palm some Vit B1? Do you just crush some tablets and dissolve them in water and then apply? Thank you.

How do I straighten up a salgo that is leaning and about 5 ft tall and top about 3ft from ground?
@rosgembrun5 жыл бұрын
To straighten that plant I would dig all around and cut the roots on the side that you push the Sago on, so that with roots severed, you can push it back straight. It may be that you have to cut the roots all around. That area behind should be dug up wide and deep enough to accommodate the root ball. Easy if you have the tools,a good spade, and a recprocating saw.

I have a question. I cut several baby sages from a large "mother." That was almost a year ago. I potted some and planted others. The potted ones are showing new growth, but the ones planted in flower beds show no new growth. Should I give the barren ones more time?

I have a mature sago with 6 overgrown pups one to two feet tall. Should I leave them as is and maintain as normal or separate (and transplant if possible)?

If you want grow more why not. For me looking for sago palm pulp grow in our yard, i would definitely pull and replant them. Good for you having a female sago palm.

Should I cut all the leaves off the 6' tall sago my neighbor transplanted into my yard. They have all dropped and are turning yellow. The trunk is about 2' tall.

I have sago palm that is in a pot about 18 inches wide and 2' deep ... and I want to repot it, but it is so prickly and thorny I don't know how to get it out of the current pot or pick it up to repot it? Any hints or ideas on that? It's too hard to grab, and now it is large and heavy .... like your main plant in this video? Any hints?

I never liked this die hart ugly ass plant till I met my bff. It makes plenty of sense to have these as a main piece or back drop for a flower bed. This brings out the Gody of a garden. I been gardening for ruffly 10 years. I just started liking this plant five months ago when I started maintaining my bff's flower beds.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to grow sago palm. You will end up with 100 of them unless you enjoy doing the digging every year.
