I tried lots of different tools, using emails to myself, post it notes, etc I'm now on obsidian and like the "daily notes" feature to quickly capture ideas. From there it's easy to copy and paste or even rename the daily note to permanent one.

When you said "idea inbox" did you mean it as a repository for interesting links, snippets of articles, podcasts, documents, books etc? These are essentially ideas from other people, not yours. Or did you mean it as a repository for those hundreds of your own ideas (raw ideas) that suddenly pop up in your head while in the loo, or while commuting to work, etc?

For me: it's one in the same. I like having one place to capture, and then to cull and organize from there :]

very good video! I simply use my email inbox: everytime I find something important I share it/send it to my email-inbox. this way i am constantly reminded what i still have to review and additionally this is a cross-plattform "system" (i have a windows pc, android smartphone and apple ipad)

Excellent work and I genuinely appreciate the ideas and tools that you use. The Idea inbox is a great process. I will be using "Drafts" to do so. Drafts is on my apple watch, my iPhone, iPad and Mac. From here I will review and then properly store in Obsidian. I am looking at DevonThink as my repository for other people's notes and then Obsidian for my notes (via Curtis McHale). Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next videos . . .

I hadn’t heard of drafts. Thanks for sharing!!! It might be nice to have an app with native Apple Watch integration!

@@HeurekaLabs Yes, Drafts allows for you to speak directly into your watch if you are out for a walk or if a thought just comes to you and it records it into Drafts. Drafts then can process the text in several manners (I am hoping for an Obsidian connection, but it does have Markdown and it is an inexpensive charge to have it on all the Apple platforms. You need to look into this as it has a large following, I cannot recommend this enough. I wish you and your family a safe and happy new year!

I am very excited for the next video on your evaluative process! For me, I have multiple systems for capturing ideas: (1) a paper inbox sitting on my desk for notes on paper; (2) I use Evernote for everyday stuff (i.e., books to read) and web clippings I want to save and re-visit (3) Remarkable tablet - I have so many little notes books and topics I want to write down for project tracking, notes while reading, etc. This year I am also starting Braindump Fridays which is a reserved time, usually Friday afternoon when I am sick of work and I review my ideas. Because of this video and all the previous Obsidian videos, I am going to importing these ideas into Obsidian to begin to start drawing connections and determining what ideas are worth pursuing. Thanks!
