Just got my 21 platinum, had the remote start set up, and wondering why it didn't work. Now I know that you have to press the lock button first, haha.

That one catches people off guard. Learned a few weeks ago that some manufacturers will have their remote start buttons lock the doors automatically 🤷‍♂️ Hope you’re enjoying your Explorer!

I just made an appointment with the dealer after picking up my new truck as the remote start on key fob was not working when I pressed twice with doors locked. I had no idea it's actually a 3 button process, thanks soo much!! Why doesn't the dealer tell you this ? lol

So.. I was actually wrong when I shot this (it was one of my first videos). It's only a double press. But if it's not working, make sure that remote start is enabled in the infotainment system in Settings --> Vehicle --> Remote Start

It's on the F150 Lariat.. frequency for the fob isn't published data

How far distance for the remote start?

Standard range would be about 300 feet but there's a long range extender that can take it up to 2,500!

Do you happen to know how to disable the autolock once you start moving? I've not been able to find anything online that actually works for my 2020 Lariat.

Autolock can't be disabled unfortunately. Once your truck reaches 12 mph (20 km/h) it'll repeat the door lock cycle..

@@CarsWithSteveI thought that might be the case. I’ve not seen anything online that works for the 2020. It’s horribly annoying because I am always getting out of the truck to get tools from the backseat and it’s locked. I just bought it used. If I had known about this, I would have bought a different truck

Well if you have a mechanic friend or are tech savvy look into the Forscan app. Auto lock can technically be disabled but it's not recommended ;)

I just bought my first truck yesterday (2020 Lariat) and the key fob is missing the buttom 3 buttons and they told me that key fob that looks like yours is only standard on the King Ranch. Can I get one like yours?

Yeah that's not true at all about it being a King Ranch and above feature. On the 2020 it's standard on the Lariat and above Check with another dealer and have them order you a fob.. I do find it a bit weird that yours didn't come with one that's this style

Is the feature by default turned on? My truck is not starting even though it is locked

If you're pressing lock one and then immediately pressing remote start twice and it's not starting the feature might be disabled. Go through the media screen to Vehicle --> Remote Start and make sure it's enabled!
