THIS is labor of love man. I own a 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro. Been working on the nerves to do this vs mechanics telling me to just get rid of it and buy another one. My car is extremely clean in the inside, with a nice body, & I know what the car has already gone through for the last 8 years. I just want it up and running again. Why waste a beautiful german tank. ❤

Outstanding! A real trooper here! I'm just "flabbergasted" at how difficult these are to work on. You need the patience of the Pope in Rome!

Hello - I am very thankful for this video. I am replacing a transmission in my 2004 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro this weekend. I am not entirely sure if I am going to run into problems as far as programming, adaptation resetting, etc... To be sure I got the TCM from the donor car too... Did you have any of these issues with this build? You are my hero BTW as I am pretty much going to be following your video to get the job done. Oh I am also replacing the oil pump too since I ll have that subframe dropped.... I am desperate for information about my car accepting the new transmission - and I cannot find anything. I'll be rolling the dice if I can't find anything.... I made sure that I got the same "GBF" 5HP-19 from the donor car (again, with the respective TCM) If you have any advice for me I would do a back flip.... Thank you in advance! You obviously know what to do...

Great video mate, but why not remove front end and engine and gearbox together lot easier to do and lot easier to put everything back together that for sure, have done that several times on b6 and b8 and faster to. That way or another greate brave job bro. Cherrs

And if u work smart u don't need disconnect air con when removing engine and box mate.

Pretty much the same for the B5 model too. Though not necessary to loosen sub frame bolts.

well done ,, how long did that actually take ?
@WarHawk4275 жыл бұрын
If you're going to drop the subframe anyway and ruining your alignment, you might as well just drop the subframe with transmission, engine, control arms, spindles, and shocks as an assembly.

True

Way to heavy and awkward, IMO eaiser to drop everything separate..
@GERntleMAN4 жыл бұрын
...and disconnect hundreds of connectors, lines and hoses, every fluid including a/c and cooling water and fuel...nope, it's easier to do it seperate. Unless a mess and time is not important. And the added work you have afterwards AND beforehand. Not to mention the things that just will break, because they are old.

Love everything about this video!!! just one question tho. How can you record all this while working on this car? Do you use a GoPro or something?

I read that its 11 billable hours for audi to change the torque converter. if that helps give you an idea.
