Nice job. In addition to the trunks being slammed as a reason these crack, I’ve also heard it can be attributed to the hardware being tightened too tight, even from the factory. Some say to loosen the torques screws a little if you think yours may be too tight as the vibration going down the road on all the little bumps could help crack it.

Exactly. Good point. I definitely backed mine off as a precaution as well. Have to treat these like gold lol.

Good work, I was lucky enough to find a old stock OEM one and it’s great, only downside is there is like 1 or 2 bulbs out in the middle. I may replace it with one of the sequential ones and just sit this one aside Thing cost like 220$ from a ford dealership that happened to have one

You can also repair the OEM third brake light(need all the broken pieces) if you’re like me and trying to save money. There’s a thread on SVT Performance labeled “Poorman’s guide to the third brake light repair.”

Great tips! Not sure how but mine still has a factory not cracked third brake light. Got lucky on both Cobra's on that.

Na never buy an aftermarket one pure junk ok I got an 01 cobra an .y trunk brake lite was cracked all over an 6 years ago I ordered a original ford trunk brake lite was glad to get it an it was 225 dollars yal but now if you could find one oem ford new but you won't it would be at least 300 at least an I've had people that didn't believe me that I found a new lite until I tell em look in the right hand bottom corner yal the oval ford symbol an they bought aftermarket ones an they are pure junk an my 01 cobra is showroom looking an that's why only oem ford stuff will do.
