After watching this, I bought white vinegar and rubbing alcohol. I soaked a paper towel with white vinegar and taped it over the decal with blue painters tape and waited 5 minutes. Then I used a credit card to scrape the decal off! I wiped the residue with more vinegar and the credit card, and I used rubbing alcohol to get the last bit of residue off and it came off so fast! Thanks for posting this! You don't need a heat gun at all.

This definitely works!! I let it soak for a little over 5 minutes maybe even 10 minutes and was able to peel it right off with my fingers. It did absolutely no damage to the paint.

Did something similar...used boiling water. I dipped a towel in the water and rung it out. Then I laid the towel on the CarMax sticker for about 3 minutes. I used a credit card to work the stickers then removed them by hand. Finally I used a little alcohol on a terry cloth to remove the residue...worked like a charm

Worked perfectly! I left it on about 15 mins. One swipe of a card took it all off. A little rubbing alcohol at the end clean up the rest! Thanks!

I did exactly what you said and it worked brilliantly. It took me almost 21 minutes from soaking to washing off no bullshit. Good stuff I also used sandpaper to sharpen one side of the card. This took of almost all of the glue so I barely had to do any clean up

If you have problems with a stubborn bit of residual glue. Just hold the vinegar cloth on it for like 7 seconds then it will come right off. Make sure you rinse with water afterwards

I honestly didn't believe this would work, but it seemed less invasive than other techniques I'd seen. I don't know how long the decal had been on my vechicle, but this worked like magic and couldn't have been easier or quicker.

Thanks for posting. The acid in the vinegar takes everything off nicely. However, I would have used a microfiber towel and Goo-Gone, or even better, Meguiar's Cleaner Wax to get rid off the glue to prevent any possible scratches.

I haven't tried those solvents myself. But I know more today and the goo-gone would probably be fine. Its based on orange oil. I recall many years ago using a bug cleaner that was orange oil based. Probably fine on paint. OTO, almost everyone has some vinegar in their kitchen!

I think I used the items you recommended but I think I missed a step somewhere; Let's see Step 1. white vinegar, paper towels, plastic spatula and a credit card now step 2. open the first beer set down ponder how I'm going to accomplish the tasks. Step 1. open the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th now 5th OK now were getting somewhere yes, I do have a 5th of Jack Danials for situations suck as thhhhhhhisssss I thunk a tire has a leak. Next day go to a detail shop hand them the credit card to pay to get the sticker removed, so you were right it does take a credit card to remove a sticker and look no damage to the paint either. OK Just fooling around, I honestly have used this procedure and yes it does work. very nicely done video clear and accurate.

It works great! But try asking CarMax to not apply the sticker or to remove it for you. As I recall, they don't apply the sticker until they prep the car to handover to the customer. By that time it was too late for me.

Paint looks great! I still own the Challenger, I’ve had about 5 years now I think. No ghosting, no outline. You’d never know it had a sticker there. Car was only about 2 years old when I got it, and the paint was perfect then. Still is.

I have only done it myself on a CarMax sticker. I think this technique would work on other dealer stickers though. The acetic acid in the vinegar softens the sticker and loosens the glue so it can be gently scraped off.

I just ordered a brand new 2021 4Runner TRD in solid black. I told the salesman to not have them put that ungainly damn sticker on when it arrives at the dealership. I'll hold them to it. If I see it on there, I'll make them remove it. That way if it gets scratched, it'll be their ass to pay to fix it. I'm not advertising for any dealership.
