Here's what you do for one sunk in deep, you position the sharp tip of the fencing pliers on the side of the staple, and tap the spike in with a hammer, be gentle if you don't want to nick your wire, once its out enough grab with pliers side and yank it out

Let's see you take out the staple that's buried in the post instead of one that's easily pulled out using any pair of pliers...

This really works fine if the staple is not over driven into the wood and the wood is softwood. If the idiot - as in me - drives the staple in almost flush, then the fencing pliers have a hard time and short life while you pound the crap out of them to get the hook under the staple. In the end, for difficult problems, I used a pointed roof punch to get under the staple to start the process. If it's around the house as opposed to in the paddock, you might need to patch the wood damage result with filler.

Thank you. I will give this a try. The fence post nails I'm removing are in much farther than your example so I'm hoping this will work. They aren't flush to the wood but there is very little space under it to get a hook through.

My staples are completely nailed into the wood holding wire. Do I use a screwdriver first? Unfortunately they are hooked onto all the lorch posts. 4 to s pole. Thanks for the video and advice.
