“I shouldn’t have started this”😂😂😂how many times did I say this! Thank you John for being so realistic, and genuine, I love your gardening style. I have learned a lot by watching your videos, I look forward to spring 2020.

Now that’s what gardening shows should be like. Reality. Looks like you wanted to flop yourself down for a bit after that speed digging exercise!

ROFL, I do love your videos; just wish they were longer! You always make me laugh out loud and I love that they are real. Yes, i often start a job and then wish i hadnt because it feels like i have gotten in over my head. Re the wasps, it seems to be a bad year for them all over. I had a huge in-ground nest of yellow jackets in one of my beds. Couldnt water my plants without getting stung. After 6 bites, i tried 3/4 cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid in a gallon of water and it worked. Bees and plants unharmed and wasps are gone. I feel a bit guilty, but they were painful and dangerous..

Love your cheerful videos ! Have orange Pekoe crocosmia here in Wales. I like the way it all flows to the left over the low wall in my front garden. My garden grows wild. All I do is weed, water & let nature do the rest. Thanks

Chrocosmia Lucifer is grown for its very eye catching red flowers but for me it's a bit on the tall side and always flops over.

We all have our own way of doings things, but I would have cut back the foliage beforehand, thus making it a bit easier to dig out the root-ball without possibly damaging the roots of nearby plants.

Why do these plants start out fantastic and upright....then fall to the ground?

To spread their seeds farther from the parent plant. The flowers are pollinated, don't need to be high up.

But John, you're mixing all that soil with the path gravel. So, you're dead set against growing your Crocosmia through a peony grid you leave in place.

How can I get crocosmia out the middle of a shrub 4:33
@kirbyd0g5 жыл бұрын
why did they flop?
@SleepyKittens5 жыл бұрын
I think they outgrew their space... since they've been there for years (Berlin Wall ... not quite). Perhaps because the tree peony likes it richer (compost and or fertilizer), the neighboring plants will get some of the richness.
