Thank you. That was a day. Ultimately did more damage than good.

You are heating it up, if the engine where to be functional, would that heat be sucfficient?

I don’t think that’d be enough. These never did come out. Got a replacement head.

Did you ever succeed? I’m about to be facing this exact same situation, hence, my finding of your video...

Sadly, no. I ended up drilling them out and using a rethreader kit. Just to be safe I bought a replacement head on eBay too. What I’ve learned since then was that your best bet is heat. An acetylene torch is what people have sworn by. These plugs were completely fused...never seen anything like it. It was nuts. If you can, get an acetylene torch or bring the head to someone that does. I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. Super frustrating. Super heat is your best bet. I tried everything I had access to. There are a couple more vids in the series relating to this issue. Good luck, Steve!

Also, I tried a propane torch and it wasn’t enough...but again, mine where the worst I’ve seen. I’ll probably end up going with the replacement head.

I used a oxygen torch and my earthquake half inch impact and was almost glowing hot lol and my impact has over 1200 foot pounds of torque and when i hit the trigger it hammered for 2 or 3 mins and it turned out slow, i couldnt believe it, i felt like i won the lottery😂 it used every bit of torgue it had, and it was really hot, i used an old real strong extracter with a half inch socket i beat on the end of it. I couldn't believe it came out lol i have a picture somewhere i wish i could show u i was so proud 😂😂😂@KeepOnWrenching

We use a air hammer to help loosen them. You get it hot with an oxygen acetylene torch then put on the penetrating oil. The heat draws in the oil more quickly. Then with it still hot you use an air hammer to keep impacting to break the bond. It may take a few tries but works on semi trucks with over a million miles.

Sir How to remove half broked spark plug

It’s very difficult. You could try an easy out tool but they typically just disintegrate. Everything in the vid should work. But the one thing I didn’t try was an acetylene torch. Many said that extreme amount of heat would move it.

Doesn’t the metal dissipate and absorb the heat rather quickly?
@KeepOnWrenching4 жыл бұрын
If I had a proper torch I might have got them. I just couldn’t get it hot enough.

Now do you realize cold isn’t doing nothing but freezing it so basically you’re welding it together take you some heat put on it no ice cold nothing does heat and try to do it. That way you put out if you heat it up and then freeze it it’s just welding it together

At that point I was willing to try any suggestion anyone had. Never got them out.

Isn’t going from hot to cold a good way to crack your heads?

I think that risk is pretty small for what happening here. I suppose there is always a risk tho.
