Thank you so so much. We have had our Yamaha for 17 years, and when one of the keys started sticking we thought it meant it was time to buy another whole piano. I just happened to stumble on this video and thanks to you I managed to change the (cracked) key. I would previously have been to scared to open it up and try to rectify the issue, but you had such a positive 'can do' tone in the way you described the operation, you made me believe I could do it! Well, I have a piano made in China for a French company that went out of business. I’ve looked around for solutions to a key that was loud and temperamental. I thought it was dust but the connectors are sealed. The problem was the nub on the seal was twisted. I had no idea how to access the underneath the key until I came across your video. My keys are slightly different and have two pins retaining each key. I needed two very thin spark plug gapping tools and a small screwdriver to set them in place. Once in place I could pop the key out with the screwdriver. I was worried about breaking the supports because they’re plastic and the pins are about 2mm long but they seem to be pretty solid. Anyway, I was going to try to contact the Chinese manufacturer for advice but your video did the trick! Thanx a million!

@@cosmic_gate476 Yes, that's the reason why the plectrum was sitting on the piano instead of being used. Anyway, I can guarantee that the sound of my piano was not cool at all with that piece of plastic stuck between the keys...

Thank you for this instructional video about CPL-120. It really helped all the way through. I know from other things I have repaired: Count the numbers of screws you unscrew and if necessary put them in the exact order you took them out. Use small bowls for each pair of screws (1 for the top, 1 for the cover, etc.). I'm not experienced so it helped me to make sure I resemble it the right way. And with your help actually, I found it quite easy. It's quite expensive to take the instrument to a professional repair. For this one, I saved at least 200$ and perhaps the problem will occur again. So: THANK YOU 🙏🏻👍

Great video! I replaced two (2) "D" keys following your excellent instructional video. When I reassembled the piano (P-120) I noticed about 1/8" play on them (Foreware to rearward) They play ok but I think I must have missed a slot on the underside of the keys for the Key Spring. I dread taking it all apart again. Would it be the key spring that allows this amount of front to rear play in the keys>

great video ... changed 4 keys on our cvp107 - few different screws location but straightforward after watching this. However the keys are less heavier and make a slight clicking sound when played - assume it's because they are newer and not 'worn in' or perhaps they are made with different materials - any thoughts?

Thanks for shhowing the details....very clear explanation.... By the way, on my Clavinova CVP 409, it was very noisy when playing, such as "tap, tap, tap..." at each black or white keys hit. The technician just fix the white part on top (visible at 2:22 on your video) with some small cable tight all along. Apparently, it is amortiser of the metal who hit it.....it's okay, but still a bit noisy. So I wish to replace it... Could you tell me where to find/buy such soft material? Thanks

I wish I'd found your video before I opened up my piano! I have a yamaha clp-585, it's 10 years old and getting a little clunky so I bought new felts and replaced them. Whilst doing that, I flipped the keyboard and some of the keys came out. Eventually I figured out that they hook in front and back and got them all back in. The only problem now is that the black keys don't seem to sit as tightly as they did before, and so they wobble and make more noise than they did before! Any ideas what I've done wrong?

I've got two keys where the little black rubber tab on the underside has disappeared. They're probably in the mechanism somewhere, but I don't fancy trying to fish them out. I also have two black keys missing the grey plastic piece that stops sideways motion. Any ideas for how I can get those parts, or come up with a substitute? I tried some blu tack on the underside and it's better than a gap, but it gets squished very quickly. It's quite annoying, as I opened it up to fix some keys that hit maximum loudness and thought I might as well do some cleaning under the keys, in addition to cleaning the rubber contacts. These work great now and I've figured out how to replace all the keys properly (including those where the spring had to be popped back in) but I've just got those 2 severely dysfunctional keys and 2 wobbly ones, that I'd ideally like to resolve before getting all of the screws back in place.

Hi, I have one key that feels heavier than others. I’ve tried cleaning it and it still feels the same. Do you think I should replace the key? Could it be the spring?
@1yasin64 жыл бұрын
I don't think its the key if its still in place.Or isn't it correctly in place an the key is heavy because it rubs against the sides? because the heaviness is determined by the spring so this is most likely the issue. Maybe it would work if you bent it a little bit but maybe if won't work / work for long. Replacing it should do the trick.
