Thanks so much! Solved my dead battery problem. Replaced with an Exide battery which had pos/neg terminals the other way round. Took a bit of fiddling but it worked perfectly. Thanks again!

Do you have to put the ignition in the ON position? Would not the alarm go off otherwise? If not a thief can easily take out the battery right?

Well , if your motorcycle has the security alarm system , then you will have to disable it first before removing the battery.

Complete Local I have a harley 1200 sportster. I do see a fuse for alarm. My question is if you see the fuse yourself the thief may as well see it right there. So the real query is if the ignition key should be in the ON position since I do see you have it too. What exactly do you mean disable the alarm? Did you have the key in the ignition ON and if so that’s an important step missing in the video.

@@worldpeace5853 got your point brother ! before starting the battery removal process I switched off the ignition and removed the key. because even if you switch off the key and do not remove it , there are still chances of sparks at the battery terminal. As far as alarm is concerned , I don't have any knowledge regarding 1200 sportster's alarm . SO , as you told me , if you have an alarm system in your motorcycle , kindly disable it before any repair work . Regarding thieves , sometimes simple things also work and sometimes sophisticated security systems fails to do the job !

So there's a negative terminal on the left side, could you connect jumper cables to that and the exposed positive side on the battery to jump the battery? Seems like a lot of hassle to go through to try to jump the bike otherwise

Yes you can connect the jumper cable , but you have to take someone's help to show you light and more importantly to push the ignition button, because both your hands will be busy holding the jumper wire safely. That will be easy compared to completely removing the battery from the casing, i normally do that , when i start the bike after a long time ! in normal use there won't be any issue , but if you have some accessories installed in your bike like led headlamps with direct DRL connection , or some other lights , then there could be some issues , as these accessories consume some juice from the battery , as soon as you switch on the bike .

hi brother ! in your case , there could be two thing , a) your battery is weak , that is it is not holding the charge. b) the starting interval is too long , that's why the battery is loosing its charge. Solution , take your battery to a local battery shop & get it checked. if the battery is not good anymore , you can replace it by a harley battery or exide 14 amp battery .

Sir mine jumper wire clamp not working for starting my 750 I made it myself by using a simple copper insulated wire and simple clamps then i tried using another bike battery to start it But sadly it didnt it is making noise similar to yours also i once started my 750 using a E rickshaw battery it worked ! Sir , after opening the battery compartment of you Harley street 750 ( no need to take out the battery from the bike ) , just connect the battery terminals of your street 750's battery with any two wheeler battery by using a jumper cable, you will be able to jump start you motorcycle !

Hi, Yes street 750 requires a 12V & 12Amp battery . you can purchase it from the company ( 13.5k to 15k ) , also you can check the same in you local market , I am sure, there you will get what you need in a very less price ( 2.5k to 4k).
