does it matter where the came lob is when changing the bucket mine had a small whole worn in it and idk if the bucket was moving up and down cause it was hard to get out

I drive a Nissan patrol 2015 model,when you try to accelerate the engine sounds goes up and comes low when driving wonder if this is the cause?cos the main fuel pump was changed but the problem still persist
