How to: Remove / Install hood scoop on 2007-2013 Mini Cooper S model

Short video on how to remove and install the hood scoop on all R56 2007 Mini Cooper S models, but most likely will apply to S models up to 2013.

The warping was caused by heat, but that crack was caused by you pulling on the scoop from the center rather than lifting from the sides 😜

+Edris Sattar Thanks for watching my video! It's only a decal on the stock hood scoop. (I have since replaced it with an all black one, as this one eventually warped and cracked from the high heat generated by the engine).

i need to remove my hood scoop, but need to put it back again. does this break the plastic clips/pegs that hold it in as soon as you pull it off? many thanks

Hi James, You need to be very careful when pulling the scoop out, as there are 6 male type of pins holding the scoop in place besides the main screw in the middle of scoop per video. The positioning of the 6 push type pins are as follows: 3 along the bottom leading edge of scoop, 1 at each upper right and left corners of scoop and 1 in middle of back, top edge of scoop. As always, use a smooth plastic or non-marring type of leveraging tool to remove the scoop upwards after removing the middle screw. Hi Paul, It's the stock one that came on the car. I just added the black film to the scoop flat part.
