How to remove Powered by Blogger Footer Attribution from your Blog

Thanks for this, but unfortunately it doesn't work anymore -- I updated the HTML code to false, removed the attribution gadget, saved... it appeared to work but when I refreshed the blog , the attribution was still there. Somehow it won't *stay* removed, and the HTML code had changed back to "true" (yes, I definitely saved). Annoying.

Same problem as another guy. I change the value to false and see the "remove" button. But then after a refresh the html returns back to "true" and the attribution is still there.

The trick here is to keep your blog closed when doing this and on the footer section of the template put "true" on "showaddelement" and then on the attribution1 section put locked="false" . Then return to your layout menu screen on blogger dashboard and edit the attribution gadget and remove it then save the changes and finally load your blog. The attribution is now gone.
