Do you make a tool for jeep tj 2.5l , 2000? The door hinges are infamous for getting stuck and rusty.

If you could shoot us a number of pictures and dimensions of the head diameter, pin length, the diameter of the torx bolt on the bottom and any other info you have, we would like to do a couple of trial designs. Off topic, but do you know how to replace the (manual) window scissor track (register) on a 2004 Astro? I see on KZbin folks replacing them on electric (motorized) ones. I may have to drill or torch the bad ones bolts out.

@@doublearrowfabrication3880 I found a video, last night on it; but it was for a register with an electric motor. (The track/register) is removed and new one installed the same. You have to drill out the revits then te-revit the new one in. I'll send the link.

The tools from Double Arrow Fab. Are available on eBay. Commonly used tools are: hammer, punch, air chisel/punch, some use a hack saw and cut the pins into thirds between the hinge sections ( this process can leave extra space between the hinge sections allowing the door to settle lower affecting alignment) and last the use of heat (torch) which will require repainting a large area.

Sorry to say I have not looked at the lift window / Dutch door. When I have chance in the next week I will take a look at it. I will get back to you if I figure something out.

+Double Arrow Fabrication I dug around on the forums a bit more and discovered that the lift gate hinges are bolted onto the van body by the underside. Unfortunately this wasn't obvious to me when I sawed through the hinges of a salvage yard door I found to replace the broken one I already have. Now I'm unable to attach the replacement lift gate. Looks I need to find a hard surface to bang my head against.

Why not just use a longer bolt to push the pin all the way out?

The longer the bolt, the lower the yield point (longer bolts snap much easier) plus once a bolt has pushed on a pin it will be very difficult to remove from the tool without cutting the threads off to remove it and with the way costs have gone on steel and hardware we tried to not make our tools any more expensive than they have to be.

@@Munkies_ we don’t have any link to a you tube as used or a published eBay listing of the tool we make. The pin head is bigger than any of the newer models. joe smith sometimes the hinge pin can have a wear groove and can bind or lock up in the hinge, lifting, moving or even slightly swinging the door while pressing the pin can help release it.
