How to remove replace Battery in Jeep Renegade 2014-2019

Thank you so much, parts store wanted over $200 to replace my battery. Due to watching this I'm now only gonna spend the cost to buy the battery xD

My 2018 didn’t look anything like what you showed. It had a plate with many wires going to the positive terminal, and a cover coving have the battery.. Very tight fit, and yes, I dropped the hold down nut, never to be seen again. Recommend a magnetic wand go down next to the extension, to possibly hold the nut once it is free. But you advice was helpful, and I thank you!

Whoever designed the battery tie-down strap and nut should be arrested, lost that nut and makes it so difficult to put back on

I might use duct tape or chewing gum or something on the socket

Tear off a piece of paper towel. Put it in the socket where the nut goes. After this put the nut into the end with the paper towel. Use as many layers of paper towel to hold the nut firmly but not overly so. Works like a charm!

Does changing the battery affect the key fob?

The key fob also has a battery, oddly enough my key fob battery died and then a week later the car battery died.
