I subscribe because of the written instructions. The video is so useful the first time, but sometimes i don't remember everything and i have to keep looking over the whole video until i find what i need. In the written steps, this is much easier, so thank you :)

Love the tutorials Colin!~ Need to know how to remove reflections from a shiny surface and even out the surface color of a large drinking glass. Also how to wrap a graphic. The warp tool is great but it's very difficult. Thank you!

How I love this tutorial. I wasn't able to use all the tools like the Adjustment Brush in Camera Raw - this one did't have the color when I selected the shadow - I had a white and the Opacity window in the final stage of the process did not activate. Yet the most awesome thing is that the shadow was removed! Thank you. I wish I could say more in my appreciation; am just too excited.

Yes i was wondering if you can do a quick video on how to work and deal with prospective. This is a common problem where lots of new and even experienced users still struggle. Thx in advance !

wow, I am an advanced photoshop user this video is amazing and very well made. I am using PSCC2021 and this 2019 is still relevant. Thank you!

I have an older version of photoshop and I don't have this "camera raw filter". However I belive that ALL adjustments may be adjsted just by using the "curves" adjustment. Using the curves you can adjust: brightness, darkness, make monochrome image, and also make it negative. But how do you adjust the temperature, shadows, whites, blacks, dehaze and what other adjustments you did at the "camera raw filter"?
@alanbuchrucker80923 жыл бұрын
i Always find the Photoshop CAFE tutorials easy to understand and very informative, they are great for learning how to adjust RAW, JPG or Tiff photos. One suggestions would be to include a session on to remove shadows and do other adjustments on old monochrome photos.

I completely forgot about the Camera Raw filter option! I learned about it in University but somehow managed to lose that very useful piece of information. You just saved me weeks of clicking and reopening files in Raw. Thank you! I also never use Spot removal in Camera Raw. great tips
@rodshelley11705 жыл бұрын
Another great tutorial, Colin. I keep forgetting about that brush in the camera raw filter.. That's so useful for editing specific areas of an image. What I'd REALLY like to see is a real-life lasso and content-aware fill for those blockheads that see you getting ready to shoot a photo, and walk right in front of you anyway.... 🤣

nice tutorial I need to do shadow and or Sunlight removal on buildings this is the second Vid i watched on the subject. I am finding it a bit more difficult matching the contrast between Shadow lit and sunlight areas. I would be happy to send some NYC raw file building shots. Very tough at this time of year to get good light (Dec) thanks

Very good video. I only have Photoshop Elements 18 so I don't have all the tools you used. However, the harsh selection line can easily be improved by reducing the hardness (0%) of the selection brushes. You used camera raw filter (I don't have that) I used the lighten and screen filter to get a similar result. Thanks for your tips.

Beautiful picture! Awesome technique to get rid of intense dark shadows. Extremely useful, Thanks a lot!. I'd like to learn how to make an object look like it's sitting on a surface, no drop shadow, just flat anchored to a surface. My sister has a cake shop and she takes decent pictures of the cakes to post them on her social media platforms (she lives overseas, I'm in the US) so what I do is, cut out the cake and try to place it onto a top (table, kitchen counter top, etc.) and add a background, but most of the time, depending on the angle that the picture was taken, I end up with the cake hovering over the surface, leaving me with the only option of adding a drop shadow to make the base where the cake is on, look like it's somehow sitting on the surface. The image (cake) covers 80% of the canvas, so all you can see is a bit of the bg and part of the top. I use the free transform tool to modify and adjust perspective and angle but still extremely hard to get it right, tried all blending modes but none of them work. I've found 2 tutorials but both of them are useless for this specific issue because they use drop shadows to make the subject look attached to the surface. Is it impossible? I refuse to give up.

Hi Colins. I'd like to see more tutorials on creative masking. For example, like putting things in front or in back of objects, duplicity tricks and so on. Sometimes I get confused and I have to sit back and think of how to approach a masking challenge and I feel like the folks that struggle making knots or are knot challenged. In my case I find myself "masking challenged" if you get what I mean. This tutorial on shadows was extremely helpful. Thanks again.

Thanks Colin, I have a similar situation with a treasured portrait photo taken outside on a film camera. The flash didn't fire and the face is dark like it is in the shadow. Because its not digital (raw) can this technique still be applied if the photo is scanned into photoshop.
