I had no idea I can use regular acetone polish remover to remove shellac. This is very helpful. Thank you. Love your videos

I live in Switzerland and a gel polish removal costs the equivalent to $35 USD on top of a new manicure which is typically $70 USD. I can no longer afford to regularly get my nails done and this video is going to help me save so much money on the times when I don't want to return to the salon simply to have the shellac removed. It took me some time but it worked so well. The towel tip is amazing. One thing I struggle with is knowing what kind of product is being used overseas. My last mani happened to be CND shellac so the removal was easy but I wonder if this will work as easy with OPI or other systems...???

No, OPI gel polish removes different. Shellac is a brand name of a product made by CND. The problem is that some salons mix and match products (bad idea) and you never know how to remove the product. I stopped offering (unknown) gel polish removals because with a manicure it would take me an hour sometimes to remove it gently without causing additional damage to the nails and like you mentioned people are just not willing to pay for this service and feel ripped off. It’s a very thankless service to offer. On top of it I would usually find completely destroyed nails underneath. I charge €25 for CND Shellac removal and a manicure and 35€ for Shellac application but if the removal is included in my 35€ Shellac manicure service if the service was done previously by me. But cost of living varies a lot between Switzerland and Spain so the prices will reflect that too.

I follow this method exactly, and it works perfectly every time. Thank you for recommending CND products. They are excellent!😊

This is so helpful! I just got shellac (first time ever!) to see how it performs during my 2 weeks holiday. Tbh, even normal manicures stay on really well on my nails with minimal chipping but wanted to try the gel once. Question: I've got a nude/light pink which I am not loving, do you think it's possible to paint over with a regular black polish? Not sure if it's gonna adhere/last on the very sleek smooth shellac, might look dull/take away shine? Thanks!

Anna, I think I remember you telling us that acetone doesn’t hurt your nails. I noticed that you don’t have to wash it off before applying the oil, which makes the process a lot easier 😊

Acetone, especially pure acetone evaporates very fast leaving nothing behind. This is why it's used for cleaning.

Thank you for this. Of course, I'm one month out from my gel manicure. I still have some on my thumb - it's super rough and I've tried a 3rd time to remove it... but I've now given up and just letting it grow out. It was not CND polish - it was s something else and she did like 5-8 layers of it. IDK. Never again. I can't stand color polish on my fingers for more than a few days anyway. I've been using... well, not consistently the CND Rxx to help repair. Must recommit to using it. I almost went for the OPI but couldn't find it in the professional supply store and didn't want to spend that much on it. What do you think of Kerasal's Multi-Purpose Nail Repair in comparison? Or how do all 3 differ? I just used Kerasal's Foot Repair last night as a cheat. 😜

I've been using CND shellac for several years and I used to be able to remove it just like in this video, but I recently purchased new bottles and this new polish does not come off as easily. I don't have a CND lamp, just a generic LED lamp, but this is what I've always used with my CND shellac. Could I be over-curing this new polish? Do you use a CND lamp or a regular LED lamp? I really love the way CND wears and actually protects my nails, but now with the removal process being so difficult I'm afraid I'm going to actually damage my nails. I've been having to use a metal nail tool/scraper to remove the polish instead of wood sticks. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your videos!! Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi have you ever heard of or known anyone who has had an allergy to gel being able to use shellac. Tried to google the cnd shellac ingredients and struggled to find them 😢

One more thing, can gel polish be used without curing under the UV light and if so, is it easier to remove. (Asking on behalf of my toes) They used the same polish on both my feet and hands only I didn't ask for "gel" on my toes and therefore no UV curing.

Здравствуйте а может ли испарится фирменная жидкость для снятия лака CND? Может ли она испарится так просто лёжа в бутылочке или я сделала что-то не так?

I don't use products like shellac anymore. It fcks up my nails. There's only one exception: peely base.
@TheSalonLife5 ай бұрын
Yes, it can happen. All products have pros and cons and lots depends on the nails. Some of my clients do great with Shellac and for some I would definitely would not recommend it.

This is about brand called CND Shellac. Each brand is different. That is why it’s so important to receive brand specific training and follow the manufacturer recommendations.
