Maybe I'm wrong, is it possible to remove the tacho by only removing the steering column top and bottom cover without the need to take out the whole steering wheel?

Thank you for the video tutorial. I swapped my cooper s tacho and speedo for a JCW. Also, you do not have to remove the steering wheel.

No need for all that just undo the 2 t30 holding the clock to column the undo the 3 + holding the back cover on then unplug it

There's no problem if I disconnect the speedometer with the computer or something like that. The stereo will ask me for code. Thaks

I guess it may be possible to remove the tachometer without removing the Steering wheel......and AIR BAG.

Something that wasn't addressed in this video. We replaced the tachometer on our 2010 Mini S and a warning light came on that basically states that the tachometer doesn't match the Vin# of our vehicle. How do you program the new tachometer so that this warning light doesn't come on? What is the process to make sure that the new tachometer is matching the Vin#?
