Both vent windows in my Classic Mustang need to have the Vent Windows replaced. It may have been possible to replace most of the bad parts with the vent windows still in the car, but I was able to get another set for a really good deal, and these "new" units looked way better than what is in my car.
This video shows how to remove the Vent Windows and all the steps to safely get them out of the car.
Beltline Weather Strip - Part # C5ZZ-6321452
Rubber Window Stop (inside the door) - Part # C5ZZ-6521762
Super Lube Synthetic Grease - Part # 21030
The car is a 1966 Mustang Fastback with a factory V8 and C4 transmission.
Shot with GoPro Hero 8 with the Media Mod, edited on Davinci Resolve 17.

Late one Sunday night years ago I sliced up my left wrist trying to get the window rollers back into the rails. Could see my internal hardware it was so deep. Didn’t wanna go to ER so I superglued the wound shut. Scar’s still there to remind me. I hope I never have to work on those windows again. Good job, way to persevere through it!

Super video. I have to go through the same process to get the windows to move freely ( they are hard to open and close). I also have to chant the door locks…

Andy, I don't envy you doing this job. It's not an easy one and very frustrating at times. Having a second pair of hands would be real nice as you probably know by now. You should put the water resistant backing behind your door panel to prevent them from being damaged by moisture.

It’s a good idea to put that stuff on the door, but this is a fair weather only car. Except for that one time I had to drive it in a snow storm…. 😆

One hint taking off door panel - use upholstery trim tool. Sold at Harbor Freight. :-)

Nightmarish job. You should grease the tracks the sliders go in while the window is out. Also, the easiest way to install those plastic rollers is to slide them into the track end with the clip already installed. When you go to fit the lifting arm pin into the roller, you can just push it in and the clip will automatically lock the pin into the roller. So you don't have to fiddle with the clip after the pin is in the roller. Great video, as always!

Hi Andy, random question, do you have the QuickJack lift? And if so, what’s your opinion. Do you have the 5000tl? Is this a safe system? Thanks Rich

Yes, I have the QuickJack Lift. I think they're a great alternative for those that can't afford or don't have the space for a traditional lift, as long as they only want to work on the front end or rear end of the car. While there's not much going on in the middle section of a car, the placement of the QuickJacks make it impossible to access the middle under side of the car from the side, you'd have to access it from either end of the car. In some circumstances that may not be a big deal, or the available access is sufficient, but an issue nonetheless. Beyond that, there's 2 feet of clearance once lifted into the air, more than enough room to remove a transmission, rear axle removal, and in some cases maybe enough room to pull an engine from below. The largest advantage these offer is the height and relative space available under the front of the car to service most tasks an owner would need to do. With our cars (specifically the 65-66 Mustang), the pickup point is pretty far inboard (the subframe rails) and therefore the space between each jack is a little tight. I can barely get my creeper between them, and it begins to create a tight space that I'm not a fan of. In turn, this means the ingress/egress of the middle section of the car is very limited, but that is not usually an issue since there's little going on in the middle of the car, as I mentioned earlier. On more modern cars the pickup point is near the sides of the car, creating much more usable space under the middle section of the car. The stability is good, and the build quality appears to be plenty good enough for the rated weight limit. The pump speed is fine, probably about as fast as a traditional lift in inches per second of lift. I wish the hydraulic hoses were a little more flexible, but now I'm just splitting hairs. Outside of the lack of access from the side of the car, the only other issue is the setup time. These take longer to move, position, and lift the car compared to a traditional floorjack and jack stands. I have mine hanging on the wall, so getting them down (they're kind of heavy), and rolling them into position, sliding them under the car, placing the pads in the correct spot, lifting them a little to make sure the pads are in the correct place, and finally lifting the car can be a little time consuming. I have opted to use jack stands in place of these Quick Jacks a few times just because of the extra setup time. That being said, the QuickJacks offer way more ground clearance than my jack stands and I'd have to buy a special jack to lift the car high enough for taller jack stands, and I'd have to buy those too since I only have standard height jacks. The unit I have is the 3500SLX, and I purchased it from Costco when it was on sale for $999. In the end, I'm glad I have the QuickJack, I use it when I need more ground clearance.

@@AndyKruseChannel incredible response 👏🏽 review . Thank you. I have thought about the set up time and efficiency of use. They are about 70lb each. That can be cumbersome . I imagine I have watched numerous reviews and most use newer cars . I have noticed the little blocks that come with the units tend to crack. One video I seen, the car almost fell off the jacks due to the user not paying attention; to the lock mechanism. wow you got a great price. Now days , inflation is causing even discounts to be higher, oh well. Some people also mentioned adding extra jack stands as extra support, but this seems like a sturdy jack Again, thanks for the review , been meaning to ask you about these Keep up the great video content Always helpful . Cheers from California Rich

Is there a similar video for the rear windows on a First Gen Coupe?
@AndyKruseChannel

I never made a video on those rear windows when I had my coupe. I was fortunate that they were already setup, but I would have made one if there was a reason to. You may want to check RestoMod's or CJPonyParts KZbin channel, they might have what you need. :)
