I found this really useful, except it doesn't explain that you need to centre the clock spring, with the wheels central before replacing it. If you don't, the clockspring internal cable will break when the driver locks the wheels to one side or the other. Found that out the hard way :)

Thank you for the video. My daughter's Bug has been buzzing very loudly. We first replaced the hazard relay switch and it didn't do much to help. We then sprayed an electronic lubricant in at the base of the stalk. That helped a bit, for a while but the buzzing eventually came back. Then, last week she had a bit of white smoke come out from behind the speedometer. Knowing that this signal had been a problem, presumably from a short, we are hoping replacing it will solve the problem. I cannot see any charring on any wires anywhere, but fingers crossed this will be it. I've got the part on order and will have to put it all back together next week.

Thanks for the video. My dealer mechanic has diagnosed the problem with my 2003 Jetta to the wiper switch on the column. $700 to replace so I’ll try to do this myself. Your video is great but doesn’t show the final steps how to change the column lever for the wiper. Is it fairly easy to exchange once this assembly is in your hands? Wiper issue is that they turn on but won’t turn off or adjust.

My high beams won't stay on if I move the switch forward as it's supposed to, it will only flicker if your pull it towards you. Is this possibly the switch needing replaced like this video?

Yes, you can but first you have to remove both of them and then separate them.

Thanks for the videos! So I've got a problem with my wipers on a 2000 jetta I bought for my son. They start and don't have the power to complete a rotation. I have changed the wiper motor and the 377 relay but it still hasn't fixed it. Is the issue the actual W/W lever on the side of the column? Do you have a video where you change that? Or is there something else I can check into without just throwing more parts at this car?

@@AlexanderAnayaZambrano Usually, when you remove something like that, the airbag warning light appears, but you can erase that using a scanner. But first, you can try to drive the car for at least 10-15 km and see if it's turning off.

Intermittent then continuous fault. Pulling fuse worked until rainy season. Watched this but didn't have M12 spline remover. Took clip off indicator and filled housing with wd40. Stopped working. Bugger. But a few hours later all dried out and back to normal... Touch wood
