Do you have a video to show how you jacked up the Y, prior to removing the bumper? That is the only missing piece in my puzzle to do this myself.

@@AkhilDeodhar we used QuickJacks. They are featured here in this video about how to use jack pads that you’ll need as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIrOeqRpmsd3eK8si=M8b-z2yJRJTxmsMI But you can also use ramps and back onto them. Since the model y is fairly lifted off the ground, you also don’t have to lift it at all to remove the bumper.

I do thank you for taking the time to make this video. I followed your instructions and ended up cracking two tabs where the fascia attaches to the rear quarter panel. Your tip to lift and pull was helpful, but it was not an ideal approach. Your video could have been perfect had it shown an individual tab. I abandoned your lift-pull-hope approach and instead used a jeweller's screwdriver reach into gap and pop the tab up off its mating ear to release the fascia in a controlled manner. I did not break any more of these tabs and the fascia came off.

After taping it up to prevent scratches, I use soapy water in a spray bottle and spray all edges before and after installing.

possible to install diffuser without removing entire bumper? I have a damage/scratch on my bumper valance, and am terrified of the thought of my Tesla making "special" noises after the reconstruction

would be nice to have one of these videos on the model x, i got the screws on the bottom rear panel below bumper but it is still attached to painted part of bumper cover at the very rear of car. was trying to reach up in there to put a parking sensor back.

nice job a question when you open an later model Y withoutt sensors is the cable still exist or dit that is also been deleted? question becuse the camera rear drive alarm is very bad!

My rear bumper had been taken out a couple of times to install tow hitch and repaint recently. There has been a very very small rattling noise since then take I am hearing somewhere in the rear when driving very down speed (~10mph). Is there anything in the bumper cavity that could be causing this? The cable connector to the sensors?

It's possible that a screw or clip is loose and rattling in there

Yes, it's doable. Log in to the EPC Parts Catalog epc.tesla.com/ and it has a diagram of where all the clips are. The rear diffuser part is 1494007-00-A. You need to login using your tesla account to access it

Hi., how much more difficult if the Y is not raised like it is in your video? Also, how much efficiency is lost when the trailer hitch (for bike loading for example) is added to the weight of the Model Y? Thanks.

The Y is much taller than the 3, so it's definitely doable. It'll just be a little less convenient. The efficiency loss of adding a trailer hitch will depend on several factors: the weight of the hitch and bike rack, the aerodynamic drag of the bike rack and bikes, and the driving conditions. However, overall Tesla says that a hitch can reduce the estimated range by up to 5%

I'm actually interested in the efficiency of the Model Y with the receiver attached to it even BEFORE any attachments (e.g., bike rack, trailer, etc) are mounted. So for example, from the factory, the car gets 330miles on 100% charge. What would that figure be after the receiver is installed? Thanks.
